  1. I changed mine when I first had it at 65k I think, it had an mot advisory about disc wear when I bought it
  2. I changed mine when I first had it at 65k I think, it had an mot advisory about disc wear when I bought it
  3. I've not known it on any other car, had to ask about it on here when I first noticed it
  4. Depends a lot on transmission type and the way its driven. I would say that after 120k they don't owe you anything so probably time for some fresh ones
  5. Ha, seems a common problem. My cheap Chinese one is still working (touching a large piece of wood) found it on ebay. Like nev said the thread is here somewhere.
  6. New resistor did the trick, works better than ever with the new fan too
  7. First job of the new year! Blower stopped working, has been making noises for the last few months so I've replace the fan motor. Still doesn't work! I've ordered a new resistor to see if that does the trick. All the lights are on on the control unit, fuse checked and ok.
  8. There is a list of the codes on this site, it may be an oxygen sensor for the heater control I believe
  9. Mine was a faulty sensor that the previous owner had somehow fudged (probably to get through an mot). Had it diagnosed professionally rather than messing about trying to figure out which sensor was dodgy. Also had a car with cracked reluctor ring but that was on a little suzuki, fairly easy to diagnose due to the ring spinning on the drive shaft rather than being tight.
  10. I had this problem too but it was caused by a bad sensor. Short term you can disconnect one of the sensors, this will deactivate the abs.imo No abs is far safer than abs kicking in when you don't need it!
  11. From what I've read and been told, oem parts from the gv are crap, always better off going for the more expensive option, especially we're the suspension is concerned(quite hard on them to the weight of it). Mine is a 56 plate, 3.3 petrol with lpg and no problems with rust.

  13. The best things about common faults is the most have been delt with here in the past so someone will be able to point you in the right direction. Biggest problem I've had is getting the correct parts from motor factors as some bits seem to just have the wrong part numbers on them! Or you can't get them from this country.
  14. I have just noticed parking sensors will not work properly if the handbrake is not disengaged properly, must be some sort of switch on the handbrake. Might be worth checking that out.
  15. I imagine the handbrake light is connected to the lever (to tell you when the handbrake is left on) rather than the brakes themselves. I would start my search there to see if there is a faulty switch or lose wire
  16. I'm struggling to understand why the gearbox oil and filter would be in anyway connected to smoke coming from anywhere
  17. Seems to be a common issue, nice cheap and quick fix if it's the actuator.
  18. In neutral it won't rev over 3k, revs just go up and down, however it should do in drive when you put your foot down. I certainly sounds like something between the door motor and the mechanism that opens the door has come lose, broken or fell off!
  19. I can't quite visualise what's going on but it sounds like something has either come lose or snapped on the winder mechanism, rather than being an issue with the motor itself. I would suggest having a look at the other side and see if there is anything obvious, missing or just something different.
  20. Does it make a noise when you press the handle button? I have no problem opening mine but no one else seems to be able to open it properly
  21. Even better if you have a remote for it so you can start the heater before you get in the car, I know they do them for bm's not sure about gv's
  22. Knew it was something like that, I think it's a little red square in my other car that's just big enough for the ignition key.
  23. Haven't looked but does it have a small red square on the side of the buckle? If it does just use you ignition key (or simmilay) to push the red square in, this will release the belt so you can clip it back into the roof lining.
  24. Do you mean it revs over 3000 rpm when your accelerating. If so this is perfectly normal.
