  1. Got the pulley off ebay, use the code that nev gives on this thread. The belt depends on what model you have. Mine is 06 3.3 petrol the belt is 6PK2090 again found on ebay
  2. My thoughts exactly, ended up having to get the idle pulley from Germany, the postage cost more than the pulley!
  3. All done, sort of. Had the wrong size belt, so had to refit the old one while I order another. Why does every motor factor site state the wrong length, I've checked 3 and all showed the same length belt. I've ended up ordering one off ebay.
  4. That's a strange one, can't imagine the cold would affect it that much. I'd definitely give it a good check over because you just know it will let you down when you most need it

  6. Unbelievable that they are turning down work, think you need to travel north a little, where the mechanics are less work shy :-)
  7. Thanks for that, alternator is Ok its the bearing in the idler that's getting a bit noisy, so figured I'd change the belt while I'm messing about. figured it would be awkward, might give it a go, I expect lots of swearing and cut knuckles :-)
  8. Door lock is a simple fix, as nev said you can get the actuator off ebay got mine from China for under a tenner delivered! Looks identical and is still working
  9. Quick question, how easy is it to change the Aux belt and pulley on a 06 3.3 gv? The bearings are on the way out was just wandering if anyone has tackled it, looks a bit fiddly because of where it is, any advice would be much appreciated.
  10. Just a guess but, Have you tried pushing it back when the button is pressed, might have overrun on the slides and needs a helping hand to get back.
  11. Nope just typical American engineering. Once had a 3 litre BMW that had around 240 bhp and that wasn't tuned to what it was capable of I don't think. So why could they not even get over 200 out of these. Don't want to go faster, just want smoother acceleration
  12. I like it, just wish it would accelerate a little smoother, why didn't thy squeeze a little more low down grunt out of that big lump
  13. Yeah they aren't the most refined when it comes to engine and gearbox, I have the 3.3, it's great on the m'way but it takes some getting going at lower speeds.
  14. Cheers nev, I've got a chrysler dealership round the corner, been thinking it may be the only place I can get them. One of them little bugging jobs that you see everytime you get in and think, I need to get one of those. Touch wood it's the only thing I need to replace at the moment (great cars when they work properly)
  15. I was after new ones really, one is missing and the other is going grey and brittle
  16. Hi, nice easy one, does anybody know where I can get the end caps for the main bolt on the front windscreen wipers?
  17. I've heard some say 40psi to help with handling, I would always go with what manufacturers say and get something smaller if you want handling :-D
  18. Rear brakes probably need need stripping down cleaning and lubing, had to get mine done for the MOT this year as for the fronts it sounds like normal heat from use
  19. Can't imagine it calipers, as all 4 are getting hot. Are they really hot (too hot touch) Have you done many miles since the pad change?
  20. OK,no worries, I might be able to help out if you need something making as I work in the industry, just let me know.
  21. Is it the short round bar your after? It's 750 mm from hole center to hole center.
  22. OK will do, mine is an 06 but I should imagine it's the same
