  1. Hey again! So yes, I have a 2006 Grand Voyager LV Exec and I was wondering if anyone knew where I might be able to find a nice shiny new (or second hand) UConnect system for it to replace the older 2006 one that is currently in place? Thing is, it also controls the DVD player sound in the car, so I don't want to destroy that. Thanks!
  2. So, my GV 2006 Stow and Go has another issue that I need to fix, although it's not urgent. The rear door on the drivers side won't unlock or lock when I use the central locking system. All the other doors lock and unlock with no trouble via the keyfob, but this one door refuses to lock or unlock. If I use it I ave to lock/unlock it by hand. I might add that all door including this one, open automatically just fine with the keyfob. I was in a dealership yesterday and they looked at the door for an hour or so but couldn't figure out what it might be that is causing the issue. They did say that it looks like the motor at the bottom of the door has been replaced at some time and so this could have damaged the wiring in the door but they couldn't be sure. I spoke to an auto electrician who said he was sure it was just wiring and quoted me £60 for the first hour and £20 for each hour thereafter for looking at it. Obviously I don't want to spend money on a fruitless search around my car door so I wondered if anyone else had this problem and if so how they solved it. Thanks!
  3. SO! An update! I took the car into the dealership I had been told to go to by the salesman I got the car from. They found THREE different codes but no reason for them being there, so, they reset the computer, updated the software and the light has gone and hasn't come back as of yet. That's the first thing, and was covered by the salesman and my warranty. They also listened when I mentioned how heavy the smoke was from the cabin heater exhaust so they decided I needed to change the autobox filter and oil which he has also agreed to pay for - so once they get those parts in, I can go get that sorted out! Unfortunately, he wasn't prepared to sort out the problem with the central locking, so that remains an issue that I will have to figure out in another thread! Thanks guys!
  4. Oh no guys it's definitely not the cabin heater, I know that light, its the engine light next to it.
  5. I actually figured it out thanks! It was indeed the main buckle slotting into the smaller one!
  6. Hey again! Unrelated to my other couple of issues, but I wanted to ask advice on here to other drivers of the same car. I have a 2006 4th Gen Grand Voyager and it is automatic. This is my first automatic car ever and I am a little concerned with the amount of revving it does to get to a cruising speed. Is this normal for an automatic? I was told that due to the lower gears and having to work harder, it does tend to rev harder, but my rev-o-meter (is that the right name?) goes up to 3 and past when I drive... I feel like it isn't supposed to! Any advice?
  7. Hey all I own a 2006 4th Gen Grand Voyager and the other day I had my first 7 person car load! Obviously this meant that someone was in that back seat, in the middle with the seat belt that clips into two buckles. Thing is, now I can't unbuckle or release the middle section at all (not the buckle like the others, the one that sits to the left of the person in the middle. With it locked, I can't get the stow and go seats down at all, which I need! Any ideas? There doesn't seem to be a button on it to push to release so I am stumped! Thanks in advance!
  8. Hey all, so... update.... I typed the code in incorrectly... it is actually P1685 and I have the car booked into a specialist on the 17th Oct in Chester which the seller is paying for under warranty thankfully. They will also look at the door lock for me. I still haven't found any sun visor clips for less than £30 delivered which is ridiculous for a couple of bits of plastic! Still looking! I have another problem with the car but I will pop it in a new thread as it's unrelated... loving the GV so far though!
  9. Thanks all, well got the manual thankfully once I figured out that the Town and Country in the US was the same as the GV! As for the light, it is still on but the dealer who sold it to me has been in touch and keeps in touch, and offered to have it turned off by a friend of his about 3 hours away, looking for someone else now unless anyone here knows how to reset the light? Apparently it is a fuel cap issue, although the fuel cap is on tight, this is the code I get - P1635 Any ideas? Have discovered another issue that may or may not be fixable by me - the d/s sliding door works fine, but won't lock or unlock using the central locking system...
  10. Great thanks, just need to solve the clip and engine light issues now!
  11. I bought my Grand Voyager last night, it's a 2006 Chrysler Grand Voyager Limited Xs Crd, 2776CC Diesel, 5DR, Auto with all the bells and whistles in great shape for its age and was a great price too. I just have a few questions regarding the car and if I'm posting in the wrong place then please do let me know! Firstly, it came with no user manual other than for the stereo and DVD player - so I need one, any clue where I can find one online, I've looked everywhere with no luck. Secondly, the clips that hold the sun visors to the roof are both snapped. I was quoted £30 for them from a breaker which is crazy money, any ideas where I can get some for less than that? Finally, it had no fuel in when I got it, first thing I did was fill it up, few minutes later the yellow engine light came on, I can only conclude that it had something to do with me fuelling it up but I'm not sure... any help would be appreciated, could it be a faulty fuel cap? Thanks in advance guys!
