  1. So, I'm happily driving along when the engine fails - just like running out of fuel. She won't start -but - if I wait 15 minutes she's up and ready to go. This has now happened 3 times. She'll do about 8 to 10 miles before 'running out of fuel'. I've changed the fuel filter, still happening. Any ideas before I hand her over to a mechanic. (I like to have some ideas before they baffle me wish expensive BS solutions) Cheers guys
  2. Thanks Andy.....Took me 20mins to find the bloody thing. Nice that the bottom protective tray has a cut out so you can reach the sump...but you still have to take the bloody thing off to find the filter. Is there a family car out there with a crappier design for the oil filter. Answers on a postcard please.
  3. Hi Driving home last night I noticed (hard to miss really!) the brakes banging as I braked from a relatively slow speed. It was if the ABS was on even with gentle braking. 2 miles to home and by the time I was ready to pull into the drive the brakes had just about failed - was ready on the hand brake. Checked fluids this am, and everything looks OK. No leaks to be seen. Took it for a short test drive and that ABS banging started again. I've removed the 25a fuse (numbered 21) and that has 'cured' it - although I realise I don't have ABS anymore and the dash lights are now festive. I couldn't remove the other ABS fuse (number 9) because if you do the car won't start. Anyone know what the problem is so I can fix the damn thing? ABS pump...? ABS Sensor...? Has anyone had this problem before? Cheers
  4. I don't know if this will help, but I had the same problem and solved it. OK - I would start the bus and I'd have a flat battery. Called RAC - they started it and checked the battery, which they said was fine. (It was the original battery). This continued without warning, it would start first turn, I'd drive, park...find I had a dead battery. Got to know the local RAC boys really well. Every few days I'd remove the battery and put it on charge - did bugger all good. Decided there must be a drain on the battery. Some septic Chrysler sites claimed the radio amp drains the battery. So I bought a 'Negative Battery Post Switch' - a Green thing that when turned isolates the battery (clever me...there would be no drain and a quick twist was all I had to do). Still kept getting a flat battery. So I replaced the battery with a Yuasa silver 5000 YBX5096 (80Ah), cost me £95 delivered Just squeezes in - the terminals/posts are on the wrong side...but the leads just (and I mean just) reach. Problem solved...12 months later and it still starts every time. Well almost. 3 times now I've turned the key and nothing. Just as if the battery was flat, lifted the lid and the 'charged' green light on the battery says all is fine. Quick disconnect of the battery (still have the Green isolator on the terminal, too lazy to remove it) there's a click and the car starts first time. Hope that helps someone.
