  1. Oh yes the gauges are garbage, either of mine go off "full" after about 20 miles. And show it's almost empty at around 100 miles, usually with another 100 to 140 to go!! My older one with single tank fills up fine and slows as the pressure gets close to the filling station presure - which varies depending on how full their tanks are and very much with temperature. But the one with 2 tanks does the same as Semmysonic's, gets quite slow with a fair bit of gas to go in yet.
  2. Hello again, I was quite sure but just been out to check. Our 2002, and 2005 face lift, on both of them the fronts stay on when you go round one further for rear fogs.
  3. At Manchester prices it's £1500. (single tank - as big as he can fit) I had an "LPG TECH" system fitted to our 2002 one at £1200, over 3 years ago now and around 26,000 miles. Early gas leak problems were caused by different hose sizes to the norm, but they sorted it. What is very strange is that the LPG Tech kit warns you when it's out of gas with a few beeps, then when you "gas" it up knows it and switches back again. Yet the superior BRC warns you, has to be silenced, but doesn't automatically switch back over, when filled.
  4. Hi Smiler, All 3 models I've had worked on the light switch, round 1 click for side lights, then pull out for front fogs, round 2 clicks for low beam, 3 for rear fogs. Also had 2 spare switch assemblies and all work the same. Are you lucky like I was with my heated seats and the wiring is already fitted by Chrysler?
  5. Hi guys, Our handbook says / shows the bench should fold too - but it's wrong! Our 2002 LX didn't. the 2002 Ltd didn't, and the new leather set for the LX don't either, bugger! But they do go nearly flat, but not as useful as our new (2005 anyway) stow n go. Yes I agree the rear seats are better in the other models, but 99% of the time it's the kids in the back in their car seats anyhow!
  6. As far as I can think sadly the simple answer is no. Because the digital control uses sensors to automatically adjust the heat / cooling, I'm also guessing yours is the LX model, as my first one was. So I don't think the car has the required other bits. However I could be wrong.... anyone? I was about our heated seats - swapped our cloth seats to leather (2002 LX 3.3), and fitted the switch set, and they worked!!!!!!!!
  7. He is a specialist auto locksmith, but knows his stuff. (Unlike the others with a premises that struggled to cut a poxy key first time, that I had to go to them. They did code the key in easily though.) I don't know where he got the code from - part of his trade work / contacts I suppose. Fairly sure there must be someone similar in your areas guys - but it can be done, and it wasn't hard for him.
  8. Yes bizarely my new car (2005) doesn;t ask for a code on the radio sat nav unit either!
  9. I was quotes £400 by Chrysler. So we got a second hand unit and got it coded in by a mobile specialist (local so called expert said it was dealer only - obvioulsy not). They needed a PIN mumber for £20 and coded it in for £60
  10. I was quoted nearly £400 from a Chrysler dealer for the unit for a 2005 model. So...We had a second hand unit coded into ours, the (mobile) guys needed a PIN number that they got (£20) and charged £60 to do it. Remote came from ebay. However our local specialists reckoned it was a dealer only job, obvioulsy it isn't.
  11. Hi guys, our 2002 3.3 had problems with an ABS light, after my wife drove through lots of puddles for our little girls!!! The ABS was kicking in all the time, low speed braking was dangerous - nearly no brakes! So I pulled the fuse out to get brakes. After cleaning the sensor ring and clearing code it was ok for ages, until corrosion meant replacing that sensor ring on the shaft. Did the stub shaft it was easier. So do check the segmented ring as well as the sensor itself, the car may think it's the sensor if it's not reading properly, with the segments not even. Till she drowned the ABS pump!!!!! While it was like that we had brakes but light on. Eventually it dried out, reset and Ok after that. Nev
  12. Don't know about the 2008 version but I got a central locking motor delivered from the USA for under £22, from ebay. Its simple to test but involves taking the interior door cover off and taking the motor out, mine was "twitching" not moving up or down. And on the earlier versions its the same motor for both sides, came with 2 different actuator arms! As has been said broken wires in the track are common too, but usually result in sliding problems. Cheers Nev
  13. Hiya, if your air con is off and it does it in gear then it is NOT the air con, is the same way that the "mechanics" who said it was gearbox were obviously (even before I fixed it) talking poo. Not got links, search youtube for "Chrysler Town & Country 2005 pulley alternator noise" And there are several others too that give you a good idea Another post on here that refers to it is "auto box noise" currently about 1/3 way down on page 2 of 4th generation section. Cheers Nev
  14. Hi Steve! We've got the same car, same year! Had a BRC system fitted back in August, took it to the guys who did the "LPG Tech" conversion on our 2002 one (still got it). Panache, in Ardwick, Manchester. After trying various tanks they got a 50 ish litre under, spare wheel space, and a 35 litre in one of the mid seat floor areas. So yes I can't stow away the passenger side seat, but it still tilts up. And of course don't forget they only fill to about 80% of tank capacity. Works great so far, around 3000 miles already! Been on holidays a lot!! Hope thats helpful Nev
  15. Hi there we have a reversing camera on our 2002 GV, but with its own screen, sat it tight to the A pillar on drivers side. Ours simply wired into the reverse light feed and earth wires for power. Or are you trying to connect it into the DVD screen? Aftermarket? I believe they are a bugger to install and work with the Chrysler wiring and wheel controls. Cheers Nev
  16. I had a 2002 version that would stop working on occasion, what used to sort ours was giving the connectors under the seat a wiggle!!!! Our current one has obviously had problems in the past as the box is not fixed in position now. Cheers, Nev
  17. Hi Daz, Yep chuffing huge 20" if you want to trash the ride quality!!!! I got a great deal on 18" from a local supplier in Stockport, £650 wheels and tyres, fitted. The tyre model I have is the Accelera PH1 - R Motorsport Wheels, Whitehill Industrial Estate. It still drives beautifully. And they don't actually look that big on the car. Now I realise tyres are very subjective and personnal, and until I spoke to a mate of mine who put me on to these guys 3 years ago, I would never have considered "Accelera" on my car. However, in all weathers, for 24,000 miles on my 02 plate 3.3, (17" package, Accelera Alpha, same supplier) and 4000 miles in our 05 3.3, on these, they are totally fine. They are not "ditch finders" nor are they the best thing on the planet for your Ferrari, but they work well on my heavy bus. Might well be rubbish on a light car - but that ain't a Grand Voyager! They don't last quite as long, but they are less than half the money. They don't readily lock up in the wet. And on the way back from holiday stopped a fully loaded GV rapidly in the face of a half wit on the wrong side of the road up hill towards us. We were doing 60mph, down hill, full of kit. No drama.
  18. Hi Guys Having struggled to find the correct type for the fog lamp bulb for the facelift model, with round fogs, I thought I would stick them on here for info now I've been under the car and popped one out: Halfords list it incorrectly - anyone need some HB4 (9006) bulbs? Low Beam - H7 High Beam - H9 Side lights - W5W Fogs - H10 (also called 9145) Hope that helps someone. On the low beam - try HID conversion kits - cheap as chips currently. I paid £12.99 inc delivery Looks like a few of us have tried them! Cheers, Nev
  19. Replaced the rad on my 3.3 sourced from ebay for £71 in mid 2014 Mine was leaking not overheating though!
  20. Hi there, Have you had chance to investigate further on yours? Good to let our other members know, especially if it's a straightforward fix compared to what some mechanics were telling you hey. And a whole lot cheaper than a gearbox. Nev
  21. Ttry Pentagon Chrysler at Barnsley, Yorkshire, they emailed me a picture from the page when i needed the air con pipes to the rear heater so we could identify it properly cheers Nev
  22. Ho ho I got some LED side lights too!! I got giddy and bought the 13 smd ones, 4 round the sides, 3 high, 1 on the end - so bright it's untrue! And just over a fiver the pair. Yes I saw one site that gave the example of the bluer ones, and they appear to put less visible light on the road too - so pointless, well unless that what you're after of course! I put xenen white H9 in for high beam, standard 65w, blooming good light output. I drove last night for the first time with the HID's - holy poop they are good - got to get a kit for my van!!!!!!!
  23. I ended up with the 4300k, I was quite confused, but read on 2 sales adds that for greater effective light on road, but not as distinctive, the 4300 was the one. And they also reckon that OEM stuff is around that value. I can always get the 6000k bulbs cheap enough to compare hey! If you put it in context - cheaper than 2 coffees at most mainstream coffee houses!
