Ok just to report that gearbox now serviced with+4 atf run for two weeks gearbox felt a bit smoother. So iv put a bottle of lucas non slip in well as week later fantastic improvement as when I'm towing it's not hunting for third gear it on uses third when needed. Ok I took a risk but it was well worth it

Ditto 28", but the first time fit usually needs a turret puller to get two 28" do dance together properly, like bignev I bought expensive and they lasted less time than the cheepo's so I bought three pairs of sleeves and have two pairs left. The cheepo's are in their third winter.

Yes even the belt was showing signs of wear. But the water pump was in great condition. But still had everything changed . Just shows its best to get it done earlier than later

There is nothing wrong with your car. Its just diesel particles. If you rev a petrol car hard you get a light grey mist out of the exhaust. Dont forget diesel engines are dirty old things. So drive your car stop worrying it. Your car is not broken. So leave it alone. Use better quality fuels. Its cheap enough now.

    Hi bignev
There are alot out there who think an italian tune up is the way to go lol. Well why would you want to thrash your car to an inch if its life just to blow a small amount of crap out of the exhaust. well the problem is that is only a short term solution. The diesel we buy these days have a small and percentage of bio.which over time causes a wax build up in the system and also crystallisation around injection system. So thats why there are specialists cleaners to help remove these deposits. I use the same as you nev. I also use millers. As it gives back the cetane which is missing from fuel because of bio. So i also get a smooth running engine less diesel knock and a couple of mpg more. Which to be honest the book says 29mpg. Mine does 31.5. So not complaining with that

Hi mine was done under warranty. But had quote first to see how much. My local garage wanted £267 supply and fit. The part is £80 from europarts.
