frogland replied to GavinG's question in Voyager 4th Generation (2001-2007)
Is it safe to shift from to D to 3 or L whilst in motion or does the vehicle have to be at a standstill ? -
I've got some noise coming from the rear how can you tell if it's these bushes or the shock/dampers ?

Grand Voyager 2007 2.8 Crd Auto Exec Gearbox Ok?
frogland replied to GavinG's question in Voyager 4th Generation (2001-2007)
This is interesting since this is the first auto that i've owned, and i've got a steep incline as i leave the house,my 1,6 tdci goes up it no problem in 1st gear, the 2.8 crd struggles in D ,it manages better if I use the L position. The incline is roughly 10 metres high over 20 metres long (it's quite steep ) -

It couldn't be as simple as removing the starter and sticking this kit in ?
-
Sounds right ,it started first turn of the key today I let it run a bit,cut the motor, and then it wouldn't start again until i messed with the starter ground. And i can remember the same thing happening a few months ago. So the brushes have to be replaced ,is it do it yourselfable ?
-
Unplugged the earth connector on the starter a few times and that did the trick. I'm surprised how easy it was to unplug I'll try and pinching it a bit to create a better connection. Is it normal for the heater exhaust to smoke a bit on startup ?

Engine Keeps Cutting Out
frogland replied to legonsuk's question in Voyager 4th Generation (2001-2007)
I was reading a post on a French Chrysler forum just recently someone with the same engine had major starting issues similar to yours. He tried everything except the crankshaft of sensor, it turned out to be the crankshaft sensor ! I ll probably end up replacing mine. -

sorry to deviate slightly but whilst we're on the subject of relays could anyone tell me what this one is for ? Its down by the side of the battery.
-
I think one of these is glow plug relay not sure which.

my fuel pressure starting problems have improved dramatically since I stuck a big Battery in,I had to chop the tray and it's a tight fit but worthwhile. I'll be doing the button mod as well.

2.8 Crd Engine Is Cutting Off
frogland replied to karmannski's question in Voyager 4th Generation (2001-2007)
I just want some clarification -a bad fuel filter housing doesn't necessarily shows visual signs leaks or cracks? Someone on the forum mentioned that the ´internal membrane' could be defective ? -
Can't go outside the weather's diabolical ! I was wondering since there's a connection from the MAP to the MAF could the missing MAF resistor cause the MAP to play up ?
-
Im following this as I have the same short. If your electrician finds it it would be useful to know the colour of the wire and the location.
-
Thanks Mike, when work commitments let me,I'll get back to you. In the diagram A36 refers to ECU ?
-
I received the new MAP sensor unfortunately the code P0235 is still there Her are the voltage readings i took engine at idle there was no change under acceleration.

2.8Crd Cutting Out Above 2.5K Rpm
frogland replied to andyb2000's question in Voyager 4th Generation (2001-2007)
'The old fuel filter housing had a membrane inside it that was damaged and we think that it was allowing air into the system. ' This is interesting, everyone who's had a faulty filter housing mention cracks and visual leaks and traces of diesel. Mine looks fine from the outside how can i tell if the membrane in is knackered ? Could a non return valve be put on the fuel line ?- 62 replies
