  1. My Grand Voyager MK5 from 2008 with 2.8 CRD Diesel engine has got a bad head gasket. How do I know? On Ice cold engine is steams white smoke and pressure goes straight away to the expansion tank (fumes). Mayo on the oil cap as well... So, did anyone did b4 head on Grand Voyager ? any tips? Can't be that hard its only 4 cylinders head. Any manuals available ?
  2. Ok, Feel like I'm talking to my self here Anyway... No Start issue is fixed now, but another problem came bad head gasket So I will open new topic for it.
  3. Hi b4 you will spend any money try to re-charge it your old battery and try - You can buy or borrow Ctek charger. Gearbox - check the ATF levels on cold and on warm engine, look in to your manual or search on forum on how to do this, How often did you change ATF and filters in the past 10yrs? What codes did you get out of Diagnostic via OBD2?
  4. Good news It was Crankshaft reluctor ring that was damaged. So crank sensor could not read any signals from it that crank is turning. Gearbox had to go out and the flywheel - and it sat just behind it. Started first time, No must service it and take it thru MOT.
  5. Another update Timing was Ok spot on - look like someone not long ago fitted new belt&water pump. So I'm putting everything back together, and will try again with some extra power to start him off easy start directly via Inlet.
  6. Ok @Admaalzo66 Ok I take that your Fuel Filter been changed recently, if not change it b4 you will do anything else. 1. Remove the plastic engine cover x3 10mm 2. Buy or get ~0.5cmx 1,5m or longer hose 3. At the end of the Common Rail pressure pipe undo the return hose and try to block it with a screw for example. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m5FnOU4MiIQ 4. If you on your own you will need long hose - Connect your hose to the return valve ... and put the other end to the bottle (secured place to avoid silage). 5. Start cranking engine as you do (in the morning pref - on cold) and watch if there is any fuel going out of the return valve - if yes - replace the valve at the end (Bosch only) ~£50 - £60. 6. If no leak on cranking or running engine, try to rev it to 2.500k (max allowance on P gear) and watch if the valve is letting any fuel or not if yes replace if not go to no.7 7. Remove inlet pressure sensor (Bosch part) 4 pin plug x1 hex nut bolt - its in the inlet not far from the common rail (ref. to the picture attached) 8. Use brake cleaner to clean in from any deposit - refit and test the cold start on car after few hrs. 9. If not any better, buy new sensor (Bosch I paid ~ £25) Also good tip to improve cold start is to buy set of new glow plugs, they are cheep as chips these days £10 each all you nee id long 10mm socket to replace them. You need to remove alternator to get to the 1st glow plug. Hope this will help. Good Luck
  7. Oh, that's a shame. I just sold my MK4 and have MK5 Voyager. Still think its the best car I ever had even after all problems that MK4 was giving me, but with your help @Andyb200 I managed to solve them. Thank you for all YouTube videos and your time, it was very helpful. Keep in touch !
  8. Thanks a lot for all PDF and pro advise. Ok just as a update for the purpose of this forum. I managed to diagnose the engine : and one code came out P0336 - Crank position sensor. After chatting with @@SpAwNtoHell and his expertise backed up by Chrysler manual and other useful programs that he has - It may be the reason why the fuel (from tank) goes to the high pressure pump but does not go from there to the fuel rail at all - as the sensor (broken sensor) does not tell the main ECU that crank is turning so there is no point for the fuel pump (high pressure pump run by cambelt) to do anything. So it might be that with I hope - or the bad timing with I will test if this will not give any positive results. Will carry on
  9. Ok I just realised that on mk5 cambelt is diftent setup. Has anyone got autodata with diagram ? Also I can not find on mk5 two cam shafts locking points to lock cams.
  10. https://youtu.be/cGGSRsHclZw I think that high pressure fuel pump that is run via cam belt is not working. Are the mk4 and mk5 pumps are same ?
  11. ok, my fuse box is different - so I assume that relay is located in different place. Also I came across some YouTubers that are introducing fuel relay kit made by Mopar (some models had a recall) Part number CBWPR091AA But was this kit made only for petrol engine or diesels too? here is what my fuse box looks like.
  12. Got it - will print if from work and study b4 weekend. Will update on results. Thanks bro!
  13. Thanks bro What system you use to get this data? Can you send me these print shots to my email in better quality please ? Karmannski(at)GmailDOTcom I managed to drain the Fuel already. Will update here on results

  16. Diagram will help me a lot. Yes they are there but not 100% clear with relay if for what. 2008 CRD Limited
  17. That was my thought too- bad sump pump. Check the Oil pressure with a tester b4. I can check on mine just to compare if you like. Just let me know where is the low oil pressure sensor. Karmannski
  18. Do you know with relay/fuse is for the fuel pump bro? It will help me a lot. I'm about to drop the tank etc. I have disconnected one of the high pressure pipes (rail to inj) and it was dry there so I assume that fuel is not getting to the engine from the tank. I could not hear any buzzing from the tank while my mate was putting ignition on, all I heard was single BANG! from the tank every time you turn ignition ON. btw. to empty tank on the MK5 Voyager you must have a very thin hose ~5mm as it is not possible to put normal size hose through the hole (it has got crossed plastics not like old MK4 where you can fit 1inch hose in and suck all diesel out in 5 min) Karmannski
  19. Thanks bro I noticed that there in no fuel going in to my rail at all. I have disconnected one of the Rile-to Inj pipes - turned the engine few times and no fuel at all had showed up in the high pressure rail. All I hear when I turn the key is the bang! from the tank. Could it be trapped air or bad fuel pump?
  20. Engine Cover is covered in fuel so I assume that one of the return lines is leaking. got to inspect Fuel Filter Prime it etc I can hear single Bang! coming from the back when I turn ignition (like a book that fell of the shelf) not sure if that is right. I'm going to diagnose it tomorrow.
  21. Ok Got this MK5 2.8 Limited from 2008 Problem: Does not start. Description: I put new starter, as the old was useless, it turns as long as the power is provided by battery. Need to test Fuel pump, relays, fuse, pressure valve etc. Has somebody got here fuse box description, and Fuel pump Diagram? Any tips?
