  1. Thanks Pal I got him - Like yours maine has got few issues but I will open new topic. I have noticed that MK4 has got better quality (Stronger) interior (seats, plastic, all door handles etc.) , when MK5 seams not be be heavy duty one like MK4. good looking but week not like strong MK4 plastic.
  2. Thanks for reply @spawntohell - how long do you own your mk5 now?
  3. Dear all I decided to upgrade my minivan to the latest model MK5 with Swivel n Go Seats etc still 2.8 CRD as much as I would love to own 3.8 V6 the Road TAX on them is crazy. With the MK4 Diesel I experienced few issues mainly cold start problems, or engine cut out when I was accelerating fast - but I managed to fix them all and car is awesome, but I booth (non runner - engine starting problems) the latest model and its coming today, and just wanted to ask those who owned MK4 before MK5 are there are similar problems that I can came across or is there is less of them and other issues are now involved? The new car shape is more square from the older model, does that affects MPG? Is Gearbox better from MK4? We use our minivan regular for Europe trips . All opinions are welcome.
  4. Not 100% sure about the wire but I think that you should be able to adjust that. But Handbrake shoes have got a small gear on the bottom that you must turn and set it in the right place. Usually I lift the rear of the car (on the beam in the middle) turn the Handbrake gear adjuster until I struggle to turn the wheel with bear hands but still can do it. Then when you pull the leaver in cabin you will get best results. I ended up changing the complete mechanism (shoes, springs etc) only £30 on eBay but at least passed it MOT and is working fine. There is a video on YT of the guy who shows how to access the gear that I'm talking about. You will need short driver and some Oil or WD40. Good Luck
  5. Hard to tell, could be anything - sound like CV Joint to me. Best is to put it on the ramp and inspect it - They do free cheeks now at Kwick Fit, Halfords etc just book in with them and they will direct you in the right way.
  6. I'm really bad with electrical issues, can do mechanics only Don't know about your skills, but it is always worth it to find local electrically minded guy who can have a look at it - I'm sure there is a lot of Lithuanians or Polish guys around you , and they love Voyagers (Just like me) for a return trips to Poland. Other pair of eyes may see what your can't, maybe rat or mouse cut the wire, you never know. Try to replace/clean the indicator/lights/etc shifter... Question: Does your engine is cutting of on the idle or when you accelerate, and trying to build up a speed?

  8. Yep I did fit brand new sensor and it did improve first start I'm doing EGR today Thanks Andy
  9. Thanks Andy Yes I did see your video and it was very helpful. I have changed 2 filters in the past 4 weeks. It does not cut off as often as on the old fuel valve but I think that EGR need cleaning.
  10. Hi my engine was recently cutting off on the revs higher than 2.5k 2.8 CRD my return valve was bad and I also changed the sensors that is in the intake 4 pins. It did solve the problem until today, when it cut off again. What Torque should i put on that Valve ? I'm going to clean EGR and inlet from the dirt hopefully it will help.
  11. I have completed the task -timing belt kit - new water pump I used one of the black pins for my 2006 CRD 2.8 on the crank behind the starter. And used difrent technic to put the timing belt on from what autoshaman showed on YouTube. Basicly I placed the belt on tensioner first and then I moved up and pushed it in on the top gear. (Much easier) My old belt was full of cracks, so I have changed it just in time, and all other bearings were worned and loud as you would expect after 6 years of constant use. Now engine runs much better. Next job clean EGR
  12. Top man! Thank you so much . Yes I have seen video thanks
