Nello got a reaction from Sammy in I've Just Bought A Delta
Welcome to an exclusive club Sammy. You'll find most answers from here from us few.................
As far as the key goes - The Flip key internally is pretty much standard across the FCA /Fiat/Alfa/Lancia range - see this Video - yes its an Alfa key but watch around 02:30 and you can see there is a small 'cam' that the key blade clips in to to hold it retained - the cam has probably worked loose.................

Out of interest - did you get much 'interest' ?
Mine went through the MoT last week - just an advisory about pads..... Had mine 5 years now.

Nello got a reaction from TJB in Delta Lancia Badging
Good work TJB - The MultiAir had a much larger CHRYSLER logo?!

I used some carbon fibre wrap and a 60mm wheel centre badge from eBay on my engine cover. Seems to be holding up so far...
There's a thread on here of my "brand re-alignment" project.

Nello reacted to Andrewgrale in Engine Revs Drop Briefly When Just Under 2K Revs
Provided that the fuel and air filters are in good condition and there are no cracked pipework, my gut feeling is that it sounds like a manifold pressure sensor, these have been known to clog up and fail. I would also check around the fuel filter for little leaking seals, as if diesel can get out, air can get in!!! -
Nello reacted to TJB in Hello Lancia, Goodbye Chrysler
Thanks.Good question re. the filter, I honestly don't know. It was the correct one for the car from K&N direct. Having used them in the past, this one didn't feel oily.
Thanks, I used double sided carpet fixing tape, it sticks well to the back of the iron-on patch and, if briefly warmed up first with a hot air gun, sticks well to the head rest.

Nello reacted to TJB in Hello Lancia, Goodbye Chrysler
Think I'm done with the re-badging now.
I wanted to cover the "wings" on the head rests, but most of the Lancia patches I found were too small, so I found these Momo ones that are a perfect size.
I kept the same theme going for the kick plates:
...matching one of my favourite wrist watches :
I also knocked something up for the engine cover with carbon fibre wrap and a wheel centre badge, may have to re-think this later, but it does for now:
So, other than the MFD logo, I think I'm about done.
In other news, I've replaced the air filter with a K&N item. At least I won't have to do that job again for a while. Replaced the pollen filter as well, what a pig of a job that is.

Nello reacted to MikeyRules in Delta Heater
Ha-ha it can't be that bad then! I'm thinking about getting a fiat Qubo or Doblo for work as I'm trashing the car. So the misses might have to adopt the Delta as it's too good to sell. -
Nello reacted to MikeyRules in Drls
You see loads of cars that have forgotten to put their lights on, and are just driving on front DRL's. So dangerous really... You'd think how safety driven the market is that they'd make that standard!

Nello got a reaction from TJB in Hello Lancia, Goodbye Chrysler
Sounds about it Thanks - I'm actually surprised they fit - The SR Diamond cut wheels have a centre cap with a raised centre to accommodate the sticky-out hub which they appear to not have. Glad they fit though - I have been caught out by not getting the exact ones before.

Nello reacted to Josboogz in Sump Plug And Washer
Just to confirm got my Delta services and MOT by my local indie. Sailed through MOT:)
Sump plug and washer from mito from Alfa workshop was fine.
Spark plugs were also right, car feels a lot better a lower revs.
Glad I got it done, thanks for the advice chaps

Nello reacted to Josboogz in Oil Filler Cap
Hi,
I noticed the oil filler app was super tight on both my deltas and gave up as knew I would break it. Returned the next day I noticed if the engine is warm it’s easier to open, so worth trying that than forcing the cap.
Hope this helps,

Nello reacted to MikeyRules in Front Coil Springs Please Help
As said earlier in the thread I didn't get a part number unfortunately. Just use a reg number off a late registered (2007 - 2014) Fiat Bravo 1.6/2.0 diesel off Autotrader or eBay and use that to order the springs. They're identical and cheap as chips!
-
Nello got a reaction from Cassino in Front Coil Springs Please Help
Mikey (above) should be along soon and may be able to give you the part number as he has the same car - Just use a Bravo spring. Use my mate Paul Gilbert at MotorMech in central Birmingham - http://www.motor-mech.co.uk/index.asp Paul has looked after all my cars for years including my Delta. Top bloke.

Nello reacted to MikeyRules in I Am Now A Delta Owner!
Yes I echo that, please share!
One of the great things about this forum is leaving a trail of useful info for current and future Delta owners, as there's nothing else out there catering for this car.

Nello got a reaction from Cassino in Sump Plug And Washer
My online eper access is slow at the moment - better during the evening when its quiet so will check later - As Cassino says though it will be common across all FCA vehicles that use the MA engine - pretty sure it'll be the same as the one for the MiTo - https://www.shop4parts.co.uk/?name=store&op=Results&category=14&secondary=35&opts=3753&term=Alfa_Romeo_Mito_1.4_TB_MultiAir_(135/170_Bhp)_Sumps

Nello got a reaction from TJB in I Am Now A Delta Owner!
Some great roads up there TJB I have a friend in Bridge of Weir so have travelled around there a few times - lovely part of the world. You are probably right about the colour. Been a while since I've had the Brochure out - The colour code should be on a chromed sticker under the nose edge of the bonnet. Why don't you consider wrapping the roof and pillars Matte black? Alot of Delta's had that finish - would complete the car IMO. My Mum's partner has had 75's for years - they are really comfy but you can really feel the weight they carry! The Delta is typical in many an FCA C segment product in having a fairly hard ride. Let us know if you need any Lancia changeover advice
