  1. Bignev is correct. Transponder scrim/screen protection. BCM-IPM-trigger wire-alarm-capacitor all linked to code in BCM. (On chip) key So car alarm won't stop/car won't start till BCM sends info to key in IGN "marry" again. Short term charge battery fully and do bignev sequence. Long term, warm summer less risk but gonna happen again Oct this year. Long term fix new battery. Not AGM but bog standard SLI. Optima "red top" 4.2 Spiral starter battery will slot straight in, ditto Power line 096 starter battery is much cheaper. Want more info just ask bud. Just follow bignev sequence, but once it re-codes and works lock and unlock from key fob to remarry key fob to transponder. I would never trust any battery older than 36 months on any high-draw voyager. Best of luck.
  2. You are always gonna pay more for Mopar/VM Motori part number. £20 or £80 and it's 'parts darts' on it fixing your problem because existing part was never tested.. Scrappies options I imagine are all closed. No ones going anywhere so you have the option of .. .. .. tome. Best of luck bud!
  3. I fitted a "big red key" about10 years ago. To the NEG terminal. It works fine to this day. A circuit is a circuit break = isolate. I as you can see from my sig-line am 04-07. The code does exist I, it's unavailable to you in the BCM computer. Connect circuit and listen you will hear dozens of 'pings' on connection where the Pci BUS checks sensors/equipment/security and resets itself. Best of luck.
  4. shelf fuse http://www.chryslerforum.co.uk/topic/1503-flat-battery-help-needed/ https://www.chryslerforum.com/forum/chrysler-voyager-town-country-21/interest-those-getting-flat-batteries-20297/
  5. The one I sent you is the URL for a 2.8 CHRYSLER GRAND VOYAGER RT 2008-2011. You will have your VIN number from which you will find your exact build date info. Gordy is usually right on 'oily-bits'. Check before you commit my friend.
  6. Year ? 04-07 or 07 present ? http://www.jeepchryslerparts.co.uk/shop/product/3597/egr-vacuum-solenoid-vm-motori.html
  7. Aye and purple caravans, curtains, carpets. But then I found out about proper sausage/Haslet and other offal tasties. Was gonna whack on one of the locals on my first visits when a bloke in a club called me a duck. Then family explained a "me-duck" and indeed everyone used it for both genders. Salt of the earth, good top people, loved my visits. You take care my friend, best of luck.
  8. 80's for 6 years regular 13 week trip to just west of Grantham, my girls family farming stock. Village had 3 lamp posts, 3 pubs, 1 chippy, one road. We loved it. I certainly learned to drink for my son's during that happy time.
  9. Yeh true. Sorry to give bad news to a fellow traveller. If your north east England, in the do-da and stuck (after coVid or we will get bobbies) I'll give you 2 free reads+clear's. So you need to be somewhere twixt Leeds/Newcastle, I'll meet you half way my friend. Best of luck.
  10. An 08+ is better gearbox. I'm 31+mpg hill+dale winter+summer and infrequent use so happy to have this very "lucky" purchase for 15 the reliable year. The end of any turn of the card is always LUCK. 5th gen began around 08 and ran to 16 on CRD I think. Pentastar on an RT plat. I thought at the time even if I wanted and could afford one I'd stay clear and stick with CRD engine.and gearbox regardless of EU/UK greening. I wish for your regardless of type/brand/ etc choice the very best of luck.
  11. Got stowgo its great. 7 seats, webasto, its a huge volume van middle 2 front 3 rear seats the rear stow up is as much volume under the tonneau cover. Yeh get one, but make sure its a good on electrics one bud.
  12. I wondered at the time if I could swift through all moving mechanical parts in a cycle dirty hot to cold clean. It shocked me to see great lumps of crud come out. In my case I only pulled a small gap off the bottom rad because I was 'hot' working with engine on.
  13. Worked for me. In top all through pump/rad/matrix/stat. 2.8's run cold anyway and burp out of the top bottle I just drink lazy coffee - just my idea of old school hard work my friend.
  14. I did my 2.8 different. Pre bought Comma HOAT + 5 litres distilled. Long term never backflush mixed metals man. Garden hose into white translucent bottle/engine @ temp/fan full whack temp to high matrix open/bottom hose off, hose matched to flow in/clear water only/engine off/allow full drain/bottom hose on/HOAT + distilled in burp through translucent bottle cap off/top up + burp/ take for 20 ride/check. You can see the water pump velocity through the translucent bottle and test heat/matrix/demist on the ride. Best of luck.
  15. Well my ori was a full OBD2 OBDII EOBD Auto Full System Diagnostic Scanner Code Reader on winCE. Tiny little thing battery only haven't seen one for sale for a decade. The apparently upgraded 5 expressed as V+ are available but I have zero evidence of their codes. My ori had all 4 ODB areas including the 'hens teeth' area of Chryslers own info and did have live data. I found live data reliable read at the time and unreliable when saved and read later - this I assume is lack of (add a data card) onboard memory. I've tested two super grey sellers (at my expense) by making them plug my new set into my odb port.and found them not to work. Smile, listen politely to their protestation and drive off wedge intact - I'd never buy blind without an actual test. Many protocols on my MK4 have changed over the years and new ones invented. A new[er] car on a new[er] diagnostic scanner might well work but not in my 04-07 Mk case. Hope this info helps.
  16. I'm end May, so would have been in 'no mans land'. I,m one Islander that's relieved too bignev ! Like you I'm at nearer 6 months than one, end April @ earliest before we enter the big lumping fist numbers even if we get all the right kit in the right place by end April. Andrew Cuomo reflects real fact others blow smoke ! Not political, I'm not American, he just gives numbers.
  17. From 30 March 2020, MOT due dates for cars, motorcycles and light vans will be extended by 6 months. This is being done to help prevent the spread of coronavirus. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-mots-for-cars-vans-and-motorcycles-due-from-30-march-2020
  18. I'm ok Andy, Jimmy and all of the clan are fine, see you on the other side buddy.
  19. See: http://www.chryslerforum.co.uk/topic/365-2005-grand-voyager-auto-box-problem/?p=1465 You can get Haynes, paperback. No good if you are CRD. Best of luck M8.
  20. Have you tested, or just assumed the motor/limiter/BCM/wiring ? I had this recently. Tested all couldn't figure it. Took it to the usual [Lance] cheepo local car wash and he squirted vertical down. Dozens of black 15 year accumulated carbon platelets sheered off the inside of the horizontal window rubbers. Shockin' two piggin months looking in wrong place. Best of luck.
  21. Hand lift pump 2.8 http://www.chryslerforum.co.uk/topic/1535-fuel-filter-2006-28crd/
  22. As far as I'm aware no, Coding Is Not Required for 2.5 or 2.8 2000-2007.
  23. No idea, I'm 05 but the MK is 04-07 and they're deffo plug+play my friend.
