  1. I have the same heater. Since it is too noisy like bearing sound or boiling something inside, I have unplugged and am not using that. Do you have an idea why it is too noisy? Is it normal to hear some noise from that heater? If it's not usual noise, can I fix it?
  2. Noise cannot be heard at idle even while driving. So, neither wheel bearings nor alternator bearings could be the problem.
  3. Hello, For nearly one month, when driving, I have been hearing a humming noise coming from the engine side like I am driving without intake filter housing and filter. Here are what are done, my suspicions and semptoms observed: My mechanic performed short underbody checks on the turbo and exhaust connections and, found nothing.Noise cannot be heard when the gear is in "N" (since transmission is still in motion even in "N", this could be eliminated). It's not a bearing sound, since the noise cannot be heard in "N" and during sharp left/right turns done for test purposes (this could be eliminated). It's not a bad bearing sound coming out from the rotating parts of the engine such as belt tensioner, alternator, etc. (this could be eliminated).According to my observations, noise is coming out starting from 2000 RPM when in gear. It's impossible to check this in idle, since the RPM is limited to 2500 RPM. When idle or during throttle off, noise cannot be heard. It dies away suddenly when throttle off while driving. When downhill, noise is not coming out because of throttle off position. But, when uphill or straight driving, noise is always coming out (seems because of crack, dent, loose clamp or something like that in the turbo connections). When driving, if I incline forward, noise can be heard loud and clear, feeling like coming out from the driver or midlle side of the engine.Last Saturday, we removed the rubber hoses and clamps and, checked the aluminum connections and found nothing. After cleaning the hoses, we reinstalled them without doing anything, since everything seems ok inside and outside the hoses. When I drive, I can hear the noise but, if I sit in the passenger side, in the mid seats and in the rear bench seat, I can hear nothing. It's very interesting that the noise is like a ghost shifting from right to left. I started to doubt myself... I guess, I have to go to the muffler shop this time on this weekend... Any help and/or idea would be greatly appreciated.
  4. As you know, actually, not while washing the windshield. EVIC is able to activate this feature whenever you use the wipers. Now that my van has this feature, I do want to activate it regardless of attacking the headlight switch when I see the rain drops...? On the other hand; in the United States, it is a rule in some states. Whenever you use wipers, you must switch the headlights on. Even if it's a nice dream to see this safety rule in Turkey, as I have said, it is a very useful feature that engineers added in our vans in the year of 2000s whilst most of today's vehicles don't have that feature.
  5. I just posted a new thread here by hoping that any expert can reply... I replaced my headlight switch with the "auto" featured one as well as auto dim mirror with the headlamp sensor. Actually, my van had an auto dim mirror (without sensor) but, as a precaution, I replaced the mirror with another one with the headlamp sensor which stuck to the mirror. I checked the schematics and the harness in my van and saw all the wiring has been already installed in my 2001 Grand Voyager which has power doors and EVIC. Auto headlamp feature is just a plug and play and it is working perfectly but, I am not able to activate the "headlights on with wipers" feature from the EVIC, since this option is still not available in the EVIC menu. So, should I go to Chrysler service to activate this feature, replace a relay or, what should I do for this? Just an idea, I have been thinking a wiring with a relay from the wiper arm to the headlamp switch to activate the low beam whenever I use the wipers. I guess, there will be a serious problem, since there is no relay for the headlamps while park and fog lamps have one for each...
  6. I will do the same in my 2002 Grand Voyager and collecting information as well as tools such as Dremel hand tool, fascia, ABS plastic, frames and double din kits to start retrofit operation. If I can afford, the project will start this month or, this will be the new year's greatest project. I will share the pictures when the job done... Here are some forums to give an idea what's going on exactly... http://forum.chrysler-dodge.ru/index.php?showtopic=98526 http://www.minivanchrysler.com/t15230-autoradio-double-din-sur-voyager-2002
  7. Since that day, I made a deep search and was not able to find the used but serviceable item even at the junkyards here too. The only thing I can find is Polyurethane tubes as silicone ones at the stores like Home Depot. So, I have no idea if it will work. Yesterday, I had one of my colleagues make a technical drawings and a CATIA 3D modelling of the isolator thing. I guess, on Monday, the rubber manufacturer guys will do their best and produce the item by mixing 70% rubber and 30% silicone. Later on, we will test it on my Voyager as well as hot/cold weather and shock tests. If we succeed, I will have the rubber item manufactured and sale that on Ebay with the explanation of the adventure. I will keep you updated about the progress... http://forum.chryslerminivan.org/images/misc/progress.gif
  8. Hello, There was a strong noise in the back of the van and a little vibration felt on the steering wheel. I had all four wheels balanced for four times to eliminate this but no success. Later on, we just placed the van on the stands since my van is AWD, and started the engine, depressed the accelerator till we would reach up 120 km/h per hour while on the stands. The mechanic at the service laid down under the van and recorded a video indicating that an isolator rubber bushing placed in a bracket holding the transmission was torn and could not provide an isolation between the chassis and the transmission. And, another mechanic made a handmade rubber seal which would be substitude for the original one. After all, the Chrysler mechanic replaced this hand made rubber seal with the original one since we were not able to find the original rubber seal in here. In addition to this, we replaced the both rear wheel hubs in thinking of they may cause additional noise. As a result, on 100 km/h and on, vibration still continues with a little rumbling noise in the back. I guess it still continues just because of the lack of the original rubber seal which is at the end of the bracket (#14) as shown in picture above. So, I need to buy a used rubber, since Mopar says the rubber and the bracket in which the seal placed are both discontinued... Thanks for your help in advance...
  9. I made a search... And... Google......
  10. Hello, As I mentioned in the "newbie" section, I am the newcomer to this forum. My car is one of the excellent cars in the area here but; because of the age, I have started with minor problems. One of them is "the heater'...It actually works fine except for blowing warm, almost cold air on the driver's side (LH steering) while the passenger side is blowing hot air. To eliminate this, I set the temp 24C for the driver and 22C for the passenger and switch to the LOW AUTO. But, most of the times, it does not work and I get almost cold air from driver's side even the LH side temperature is set to 24C when the outside temperature is 2C. It usually happens whenever we go for a long trip. In other words, it happens after a 2-3hour drive during the daytime... So, what sould be the probable cause for this? Is there a faulty ultrasonic sensor located in the center dash? Thoughts will be greatly appreciated, thanks...
