  1. Hi gents It looks like I may not have the radio code for my bella, is it in the form of a credit card sized card as with the Alfas or is it buried somewhere in the many many pages of the handbook? No sign of the previous owners handwritten scribble either. And is there a solution if no code can be found? (he says, hopefully, half knowing the likely answer!)
  2. I too have 18in wheels and have found swapping the rubber for Pirelli P7 has improved things considerably. Gone is the harsh ride and the steering is more precise, although not up to the standard of the Alfa GT which was superb, but certainly much better than the Punto my daughter had. I still have more work to do on the ride quality as my front dampers are very hard, and I really should have gone up a tyre size to offset my lowered springs, to fill the arch and provide a bit more comfort, or I could just fit Bravo springs.
  3. it does seem to be different, I looked on this site https://www.pekidi.com/navi?COUNTRY=1&SBMK=L&DRIVE=S&MAKE=L&LANGUAGE=3&ALL_FIG=0&SEARCH_TYPE=codpart&RMODE=DEFAULT&KEY=HOME&EPER_CAT=SP&GUI_LANG=3&ALL_LIST_PART=0&PRINT_MODE=0&PREVIOUS_KEY=S_BASKET&SB_CODE=0&WINDOW_ID=1# which is comprehensive and upto date
  4. I did and was alarmed to find the part number was different! It's a different part no for all Delta models although the Sachs box said Delta and Stilo on it. That said, if Sachs and the like are supplying just the one part for petrols and diesels when there should be two it stands a good chance that the wrong part will be fitted to someones car Just double checked on the Marelli site, different shocks for the Delta against the Bravo, although the hubs they bolt onto are the same!
  5. pretty much the same job as the second cam is driven internally by gears rather than a second pulley. The only difference was the locking peg went into the inlet cam on the 2.0 rather than the exhaust on the 1.9 (if my memory on the 1.9 is correct!)
  6. Got to have two new front shocks after failing the MOT, no real problem there until it came to ordering the replacements. Lancia specify three part numbers 50710404 for the 1.4 petrols 50710405 for the 1.6 diesels 50710406 for the 2.0 diesels (and the 1.9 diesel and 1.75 multiair we did not get) the trouble is many after market suppliers only list one part top cover all three, this includes big names like Sachs and Bilstein. I was supplied Sachs only to find the jaws at the bottom of the damper were too narrow to accept the beefier hub carrier found on the 2.0. Further checks for the bolt holes were spaced differently to allow for a different camber and the bolt holes are M12 on the 2.0 and M10 on the other versions. Hopefully the attached picture from KYB explains the differences, but I could not find their version of the 2.0 anywhere. I have not been able to find any supplier in the UK using the Lancia part number, and many places like MisterAuto, AutoDoc and their various other names simple list one saying it will fit the 2.0 when it will not. As the buyer has to pay return postage it could prove costly. The only brand I have found is Marelli. The originals are Cofap and made in Poland, Cofap is now a Marelli brand. I found some on German ebay and some from Catania in Sicily but that's about it! Incidently the spring were broken last year and lowered springs are fitted (H&R) and I wonder if this has contributed to the damper failing. Interestingly the failure was not a leak allowing the piston to move up and down too readily, but the pistons were very very stiff and did little to prevent the spring absorbing any bumps. HTH
  7. up for sale again on Monday
  8. the Measham Delta has different pics to those I first saw, it has front parking sensors too. 4 owners though.
  9. did not have a look, was too busy with my car failing the MOT lol, both front dampers gone apparently, different part no to the Bravo too. £135 for the two from Eurocarparts after two hours of searching, cross referencing and faffing. Will take less time to fit them. Oh well.
  10. Tomorrow, at BCA Measham in white 54000 miles, with sunroof. A couple of minor bodywork imperfections, new Mot too. That would have ticked all my boxes and only 30 mins away too. Oh well, pleased with mine though so far.
  11. Give MotorMech a call, he has a good rep on here and on Alfaowner and has the FCA diagnostic gear. Not sure if he sees that many 300s but he would be the best place to start IMHO.
  12. I think this car has moving headlights, there is a button that looks like it may be so, under the CITY steering button. Have yet to fully check whether it is the fog light coming on as the wheel turns or the headlights moving as well.
  13. all done bar putting the undertray back on, which is a bit of a faff. Did it my self, I have the advantage of doing the 1.9 engine in my Alfa and having the correct locking tools which makes the job easier. Hardest bit was tensioning the belt as the design has changed a little and is harder to lever, and also viewing the pointer as there is so much more body metal in the way. The engine has to be jacked up or down a bit to access or view certain parts. Clearly helps in a crash but not for ease of access. This site here gives a good write up for the engine albeit in a Vauxhall https://pmmonline.co.uk/technical/belt-replacement-guide-vauxhall-insignia/ the belt itself was quite worn, structurally sound, no fraying cord or damaged teeth, but the rubber surface was very worn and a lot of rubber dust had built up on the belt cover. Certainly feel like I caught it in time. HTH

    Cambelt

First proper job is going to be the cambelt. Although the 84k service was done, the cambelt was not, doubtless on cost if the car was being moved on. Made it to 111k so far without snapping, so hopefully will stay intact long enough to get to the motor factors and back.
  15. Cheers, it does look a handsome thing, Perla Sironi is the colour, sometime silver, gold, beige and a bit lilac It has done 112k miles but not real evidence of wear and everything works which bodes well for all Delta owners, the wheels are perhaps the only sign of use having corroded in a few places, that said they have been banged into the kerb a few times. Equipment seems standard for an LTD, no sunroof, Bose, magic parking etc It probably would have gone for less in the auction had I not been there, it stalled at £1350 and it was me versus one other guy so went up to £1650 and he quit as I guess his margin was disappearing, whereas it was still good price for me. Next stop. Italian ebay.
  16. Managed to bag a 2.0 LTD from the car auctions at Blackbushe on Friday, just over £2k including buyers fees. So far only driven it back and clean inside (twas filthy) but looks pretty tidy bar one scrape on the rear bumper. It seems like it has lived in and around Oxford/Reading area looking at the receipts I found (2013 was the oldest!) yet the radio was tuned to Radio Stoke. The speed warning was set to 75mph so hopefully a cautious owner! Will have the chance today to give it a more thorough look at, and to dig up those threads on getting those Chrysler badges off.

  18. a nice bronze savannah went through Walsall BCA for £1200 plus buyers premium (approx£350). An SE petrol with 53000 miles, Reg MKM when it surfaces. Would have bought it but I had 10 seconds to make a decision as they were running 20 mins early, so it was going through just as I got there. Grrr.
  19. RO11FUE has surfaced at a garage for £3k.
  20. did it sell in the end? Three more up on BCA including a LTD at Blackbushe
  21. its the JTDM I'm after. There is a grey one in Kings Lynn at £2250 which is tempting, but ideally would prefer it in white with a black roof. Probably too fussy, but seeing as white is the most popular colour one must come up soon at the £2k mark. Then again the clutch has just gone on my Alfa GT so may have to make a move regardless. Is A4C the Bristol Street Motors site?
  22. there is also a cheap petrol in white on ebay at £1700, seems tidy enough. Again, an SE. What is A4C?
  23. it's surfaced on Autotrader, £5k, may even be the same trader as the previous bronze LTD as it's near Manchester?
  24. damn, file too large, I give up. Give me a cambelt change any day.....
