  1. Not any info on the suspension apart from I know the springs are humongous and tend not to fit in a spring compressor so advise take it to a garage and pay them

As for the rear window I had problem with like a gritty build up that just seemed to get worse the more I cleaned and polished it

Until I experimented with McGuires clay bar detailing kit

    About £20 from Halfords

Squirt on the juice rub over with clay buff off excess juice polish after

Done the whole car and all paint work came up like crystal glass finish

    Worth every penny

  3. To be totally honest it’s been a while

I honestly vary rarely use the voyager due to having van and another car

I tend to check quite often but I would be lieing if I said a month ago ish

It has drained itself of coolant before a couple of years ago so since that I do tend to check all levels quite regularly

And it’s always got coolant in the header tank just small splash and dash tbf

I’m not 100% sure head gasket not gone but experience leads me to think not as absolutely no other symptoms

My mechanics theory of the egr cooler with hair line crack sounds plausible

  4. Hiya scufgp, but how long ago was it you last checked the coolant?

Yes, I realise in an ideal world they would not use / lose any, but this a grand voyager we're talking about!!

Mine lost about 3.5 litres on the way to Blackpool last year, around 60 miles, but then didn't lose a drop on the way home. Water pump was the guilty party in my case.

I spotted it starting to drip under the car as we we're about to set off, but we were having a bit of a tough time with a terminal family illness then so I thought "I am taking my girls away for the weekend - it can die if it wants and come back on a GreenFlag flat back". But I topped it up at the B&B in the morning, went to the zoo, drove home and it was still full.......

  5. hi brit

    very interesting read

out of question but related to the op (also for any other members who could shed some light)

does the 2.8crd engine commenly suffer with egr cooler problems ?

the problem i had/have is few weeks ago was driving in rush hour noticed my voyager get warmer than usual (did not boil over) about 3/4 (instead of halfway)

when got to where i was going checked water and was low (very low !!)

have checked few times since and doesn't seem to be loosing water defiantly not on the floor

but water in system is s#@ty

so contacted my usual garage told him what i wanted etc.. system flush new anti freeze etc.....

he advised new thermostat but was warery about taking on the job due to the could be's

ie why loos of water (thinks could be egr cooling something or other?)

not having the code reset thingy !!

i have copy and pasted the op to him

so question is can anyone give some advice about egr thermostat etc......

    many thanks

  6. hi guys

just wondered if anyone has taken any interest in the new pasifica

    if not take a look

    2019-chrysler-pacifica-vehicle-selection

    personally i love it

and have tried to enquire about them

unfortunately Chrysler no longer deal in the uk (to my knowledge)

so i have looked at various sellers in us who have agreed in principle to export to uk for me

the prices are unbelievably cheap (imo) for a low mileage 1-2 year old motor

the issues i have so far are

i have read the reviews about them they seem to be 50/50 some really good some not so good

(my luck i would end up with a lemon!!)

no one will give me an accurate price for shipping + import costs !!

what would i need to do to it to make uk street legal (obviously lights etc..)

but these pasifica's do a hybrid so how will that work with uk road tax etc....

would i be able to get parts !!!

how could i keep the manufacturers warranty ?(due to Chrysler no longer in uk!!)

is there anyone on here that could advise me or point me in the direction of someone who could

  7. im on my 3rd voyager now

in all the years i have driven them ive never once experienced understeer (unless i drive it like a complete c@#t)evan in the wet

they are for there size a pretty stable car on the road if anything i would say body roll is more of an issue

i dont think tyres are your problem bud more than likely going to be tracking bushes or somthing else

i run standard 16" rims with 215/65/16 with yoko geolanders

    and preiviously 19" rims

btw i live in milton keynes (land of the round about)so i incure turns and bends every 20yrds !!! i have driven normaly and also treated my voyager as a porsche wanna be and i can honestly say understeer is very rare

  8. im no profesional nor a mechanic

years ago i had similar problem with a vauxhall carlton

i had the gearbox oil changed with new filter that seemed to work if i remember right

but from memory there was something later wrong with the torque converter

thing with auto gearboxes is no one wants to touch them that ive found

1 reason i was given was they are built by magicians and worked by witchcraft !!lol

i wish you luck hopefully someone else will have a better explanation and can help you better

  9. i used to run 19" rims on my previous voyager

ill be honest i had them around 4-6 months and had to change them

i had damaged(buckled) one hitting a pot hole i suspect and made the ride terrible

the bigger the rim the lower the tyre profile the more chance of damage to rim more expensive tyres etc.......

must admit it did look good with 19" rims on

  10. just quick update for people with similar problem

    i got a reply from  www.lockingwheelnutkeys.co.uk

    within 30 mins

    not a cheap fix tbh

    £38.99 for replacement key

£4.99-£23.99 depending on type delivery you choose

due to being Christmas my order will not be dispatched until 27/12/18 which is duly expected

the have assured me that it is a manufacturer only part (ie Chrysler supplied/approved)

you have to supply a clear picture of the wheel nut and proof of ownership of the car and id of who you are

i will report back with any further information

  11. Thanks for the info Bignev. I told the original garage that I had had a second opinion and they have since replaced the A/C compressor under warranty. They found that a rubber "clutch" type thing had seized up and they have fitted an upgraded unit, apparently this has happened previously and the manufacturer was not surprised, but the previous replacement is no longer available

    Keith

what did they say about the misdirection and incorrect diagnosis ??

tbh it sounds a bit sketchy and i would definitely be looking for a new garage

£1200 is not an amount that can be brushed off easily

when reading the very 1st post on this my 1st comment was get a 2nd opinion !!!

i know that they are not responsible for faulty parts but ffs £1200 on work thats not needed they are responsible for !!!

  12. Done them about 2 weeks ago ebay 202129580000 i got the 3.5 mm x 7.5 mm 500mm hope this helps m8 .

    thnx for the reply

just looked at that listing !!

did the pipe fit over the 5mm connectors on the top of the injectors ok ?

i know the pipe has a little bit of stretch in it but my personal thinkings 3.5mm pipe to 5mm connectors are a bit too tight

due to location of the pipe with the heat from the engine and the fact that they are wrapped up in the sound proofing blanket i worried being so tight will just cause them to split again!!

  13. the flickering lights may be down to the voltage regulator

had same issue with my 2.5crd

the bad news is that the voltage regulator is part of the ecu

so to stop the flickering lights means new ecu (or someone really clever who can repair the ecu)

this information was from a very very reliable auto electrician who i have used and known for many many years

i honestly just put up with the flickering until i eventually sold the car on

and i sincerely hope you wasn't the guy who bought it after !!

as for the radio not flickering could probably be due to being hard wired straight to the battery thus missing out the main wiring loom and not suffering the same problems

  14. ive had similar

when turn key on no lights come on but the speedo and rev counter spin all the way to max then back down

then the ignition lights come on

this means the battery is not at full capacity and usaly a good run down the road sorts it out

it happens usaly in the winter when i tend not to drive too often (as use my van 98% of the time)

  15. hey peeps

just wondered if anyone has encounteered problems with the leak off pipes

these are the small (about 4")bits of braided hose between the injectors on top of the engine

between the injectors seems to be 5mm pipe with 5mm plastic conectors ??

but the last 1 that then drops away to the left hand side off the block is 3mm ??

is this a specialist bit of hose ?

as i cant find 1 if it is nor can i find a reducer of 5mm-3mm

or has my car be tampered with ??

the bit of pipe that ive removed was 3mm stretched to fit over the 5mm

and atm replaced with 3mm !!!
