  1. Hi all. Ive got a 2008 chrysler grand voyager 2.8 crd. It has a whistling noise when the turbo kicks in. At first i thought it was the turbo and so went through the painful task of replacing it. On test drive the noise is exactly the same. No difference at all which therefore rules out the turbo. The noise is not there unless the turbo is spooling. No noises at idle. Just when the turbo comes in. Once youve reached speed and lay off the revs the noise goes away but as soon as you put your foot down its back. Am kind of hoping all you pros on here have any ideas. The car has had recent timing belt and water pump change but like i said no noises at idle. I will try and get a video later. Stumped. Thanks in advance for any ideas or info. Mark
  2. ll I have a 2004 voyager 2.8crd. gearbox has started playing up but only seems to happen when warm. From cold changes nice and smooth but as soon as warms up it seems like the box is slipping. (similar to a manual clutch slip) If you rev the engine it will engage again but soon after starts to slip. Have changed the oil last week. That made it a lot better but there is still signs of slipping. When engine is cold it changes through all gears lovely and pulls like a train. No unusual noises either. Anyone any ideas please. Thanks Mark

  4. Hi all. I have a voyager 2.8crd and it has developed a clunking noise coming from the steering rack. When driving it sounds like drop link failure but this has been ruled out. On visual inspection there seems to be a vast amount of movement at the rack and pinion joint. I sourced a replacement second hand rack. Installed it and it's symptoms are the same. Am I just very unlucky to have got a second faulty rack and is this a common fault. Any info will be greatly appreciated.
  5. Thank you very much for your help. I have spoken to VMdiesel specialists and they have the rockers ready as soon as I know exactly how many. Regarding the injector puller, that's very kind of you to offer usage of it. I will keep that in mind. Where abouts are you situated in the country. Fingers crossed it all goes to plan. Timing belt kit will be arriving tomorrow.
  6. I am going to have a look at it on Sunday. I will have a go at the injectors first off and if they give me hassle I will be in touch with you. Do you require a deposit or anything.

  8. Thank you very much soupstone. I have sourced a timing kit and pump £119. (Dayco).so you reckon just 8 rockers and not the whole lot.
