suspension coil changed - now have a query

Question

Hi, I’ve had a front coil spring changed due to one snapping. I’ve only had the one side doing (yes I know should be in pairs) however I’m unsure if the correct spring is fitted. The car now leans slightly on the side that has the new coil. Also the coil looks like it’s wound differently. Garage say it’s ok but my friend who is a mechanic by trade but unable to work at the moment, said it doesn’t seem right to him. Could anyone upload a picture of the left and right hand side coils on their cars so I can see if mine looks the same or different please?

Suspension units and coil springs for petrol and diesel are different strengths, due to the difference in weight of the diesel engine I believe.

So you may well possibly have an incorrect spring. Or - your many years, at least 15, old one isn't as strong as a new one......  So it sits at a different height.
