Getting U-Connect "phone" Working

Hi, I'm brand new to this or any forum but here goes! I have a 2009 Chrysler Sebring and no matter what anyone says about Sebrings I absolutely love it!!! I've had it now for a year and bought it to use as a private hire taxi.......I covered 40,000 mls in the last 12mths and put it in for it's MOT a couple of weeks ago and it flew through.......I don't know many cars that could take a beating like that without any problems and sail through it's MOT like this one!!!! My question is has anyone had a problem with the phone not working through the radio speakers via U-connect?? The phone book is there and when you make a call you can hear them but they can't hear you! I rang my nearest Chrysler dealer and they told me that the rear mirror has a built-in microphone in it which has some sort of issue.........either it needs re-coding or is faulty and needs re-placing.....they want £108 to test it with a diagnostic machine and then they'll tell me how to sort it and at what cost! It has never worked since I've had the car......has anyone else had this problem? Thanks! Alan.

Hi there,

I am also a newbie I had the same problem you need to check if your rear view mirror has microphone holes in the bottom if not you will need to purchase one you can either contact chrysler dealer or you can do what I did and that's buy one from eBay and it is really easy to install and works really well it cost me about £35 from the states but price could have changed now I know the postage cost $22.50 to ship to the uk I still have the sellers info if you need it.
