Sliding Door Problem.

Have bought my daughter. 10 plate grand voyager. Have problem rear door driver side stopped activating electronically. All results of searches show doors with a form of rack and pinion track moving the door back and forth. This one has no rack and pinion system it has a cable arrangement. Was working but has suddenly stopped. Will work manually if engine has been running but after sitting a while it refuses to do anything. This I assume is a battery problem. But what is the cause of the electrics not working the door. Any ideas please.

Hi

Just had the same fault with my side door, it seems to be the wiring harness in the track that usually breaks a wire, mine was the main black with re stripe and the black wire next to it, if you have a look on youtube there are a few videos on how to repair this, I actually removed the harness and put in two new wires and joined them where the harness does not move, ideally you will need a multimeter to just check the wiring if your not sure, I still checked all mine but it was clear once I got the harness out where the breaks were. just set it to continuity and check wiring from the plug on the sliding door to the green plug which is inside the pillar behind the drivers seat.
