  2. 2005 (05 reg.) midnight blue PT Cruiser 2.4 Limited for spares or repair. Medium/minor impact to OSR wheel arch causing 10 inch shallow dent, some chipping of paint and chipped edge of rear light cluster, Cluster lens taped to body as a precaution but usable and lights all work. Slight scraping of paint on lower rear bumper panel. Rear quarter good, pillar, bumper otherwise undamaged. Collection from Paisley area. Last MoT issued 21 Aug 2019, 60500 miles only. About the general condition of the car: engine starts and pulls fine. Occasional oil pressure warning light on start which clears if stopped/restarted. Brand new exhaust middle + back box fitted day before car damaged has done around 320 mls. In last year have fitted: thermostat, rear shock absorbers, suspension drop links, rear brake discs and pads Comes with one key and fob. Bodywork in good/fair condition, paintwork recently lightly keyed on NSR door and quarter courtesy of our friendly local neds, Small rust blister front of OSF wing. Interior in good condition with only some wear/surface cracking to small section of driver's seat leather. All lights work as expected. Car starts, steers, changes gear and drives, stops fine but steering is no longer centred suggesting some damage to chassis or wheel/ steering alignment. Has been driven around 300 miles carefully since accident and no new squeaks, no rubbing noises, wandering, pulling or other new faults. Damage reported to police but not to insurance as hit and run so claim not worthwhile.Used very little now and I have no will to spend more time on getting the steering geometry/alignment checked as have another Voyager to focus on. Would like someone else to get use of vehicle or take away to use for spares. Buyer to drive tow or lift away. If no interest by 31st Jan will be collected for recycling as tax will be due. Offered £160 for scrap value so make an offer and drive away. Get in quick if interested as will scrap on 31st Jan.
  3. Hi I need to sell my PT Cruiser as spares or repair / salvage due to a broken gearbox. The car is a 2005 2.2 Limited CRD with a little over 132,000 miles on the clock. In the two years I've owned it I've had a lot of the front suspension replaced, had a new red top battery, a new multifunction headlight switch and had just had two new tyres when the gear box went in November. I'd also fitted a second hand Witter tow bar but hadn't got around to having the electrics connected. I've had it serviced regularly and had just had the egr valve cleaned and refitted. It's a series 1 car in purple metallic with both keys and both remote key fobs, has all the Limited chrome and leather plus the electric glass sun roof. There are a few small scuffs on the bumper corners from previous owners but otherwise the body is good, clean and rust free. Everything was working before the gearbox failed, including air con and cruise control. The only other known faults are I was going to replace the thermostat as it has been running cold. Also something in the fan circuit has now started to overload the wiring since putting it in storage. I don't have the funds or know how so am having to sell. The car isn't driveable due to the gear box problem so will have to be trailered. Currently in storage near Southam, Warwickshire. Open to offers.
  4. Hi I've had my Cruiser nearly two years and love it despite having to replace what seems like most of the suspension, the multi function light switch and the battery that was killed by the fog lights coming on by themselves. The current problem seems more serious. The drive wheels locked up with the car in reverse gear and the clutch in. The car wouldn't come out of gear at first but wrestled it into neutral. From there it wouldn't select any gear initially but eventually got it going to drive it home. Next day there was gear oil on the passenger side suspension arm. The garage took it in and removed the gearbox end plate where it was leaking. A bolt has spun out of one of the shafts. They tightened it up but said there's no lock tab or pin to it (tightens into the bore of the shaft so nowhere for one to go). They said it would probably work loose again - maybe a day maybe a year so not to trust it and the best solution is a good second hand box. I'm wary - if this is a common fault I may end up with a big bill and another duff box. One morning I took the car out of the garage and found 1st and 2nd had become reverse gears! It hasn't happened since but obviously I can no longer use the car. Any advice, please? I've spent a fair bit of time and money on the car so don't want to scrap it if I can avoid it.
