  1. It is with a very heavy heart that I have come to realise that I need to part company with my beloved Chrysler Grand Voyager. 2 years ago I started preparations to replace the rear crankshaft oil seal. Unfortunately I had to divert my attention to repairing my son's and then my daughter's cars and now, when I had hoped to get back to it, I have found out that I need to move house and won't have the time to do the work. I would much rather let the car go at a very reasonable price to someone who will return it to the road - rather than sending it to be scrapped. I have the parts for the oil seal as well as a new clutch plate (which was an obvious thing to replace at the same time.) I also have a refurbed power steering pump that I was going to fit as the old one is a little noisy. It's a 2.5CRD with a manual 5-speed gearbox on a 53 plate. On a long run it gets just shy of 40mpg (why did they stop making manual gearbox versions?!) If you are interested, or you know of someone who would be, please get in touch. Either PM me or email me richjgibb at googlemail dot com

  4. Hi everyone! I'm new to the forum and really hope someone can help. I purchased my first Grand Voyager 2 months ago and noticed the cruise control wasn't working and that the touch screen monitor would freeze intermittently. The warranty ran out on June 30th so I contact the lChrysler dealer in Wigan to book it in the 2nd week of June. I was quite disappointed as I called them a week later and they said they hadn't even had a chance to look at the car ! I've owned Mercedes and BMW in the past and have never been charged for work when the vehicle is under warranty however I got a call from the service manager saying that they need to do a 'diagnostics test' and that if there's any fails that aren't covered by the warranty I will need to pay for the diagnostics test which he came out with over £220 ! He said that it's a 'worst case' scenario. I asked them if it's necessary to do the diagnostics as I just wanted to sort out the cruise control and the stereo....they said they won't be able to do anything till this diagnostics test was done. I didn't have much of a choice but to give them permission to do this diagnostics test and as expected, they came out with a bunch of tiny little things which I didn't even request to be fixed due to the diagnostics test results and now are saying I have to pay them the full £220 + . I wanted to know if this is normal procedure for Chrysler as I've never had this happen with any other vehicle manufacturer whilst in warranty. Thanks guys! Nick p.s. It's coming up to 3 weeks now and they STILL haven't sorted the car out...nor have they given any courtesy vehicle options
  5. Chrysler Grand Voyager, top of the range, XS Executive version: front and rear parking sensors, sliding electric side rear doors and boot (all can be opened with the key fob), privacy glass, Sat Nav, all leather seats (front 4 are captains chairs with arms). Very comfortable, Auxilliary cabin heater, Traction control, ABS, steering wheel mounted audio controls, headlamp washer jets, Heated front seats, electric driver seat, electric folding mirrors, 6x CD player, roof mounted DVD player, full size 7 seater with large boot even when all seats are up. This is the stow & go version. All of the back seats (2 in middle row and 3 in back row) easily fold flat into the floor to create a huge loading area. I just have the rear 3 seats folded flat and use it as a huge 4 seater with a huge boot. Gives my two teenage kids lots of room and stops the squabbles. When the middle seats are up, you can use the space where they fold into as huge storage bins, 2 keys. 4 speed automatic for very smooth drive. Good condition. 83k miles. Just had a new battery with 3 year warranty. MOT due in April. Only selling as my employer has recently relocated to city centre, so car doesnt get used.
  6. Hello. I removed the rear left inner lining to get the engine and mechanics of the tailgate motorization. When the door is open and I press the remote control, only the turn signal flashes. No motor noise, no beeps etc.If the door is closed, it flashes and beeps after press remote control. When you sit inside, you can see how the gears interlock. After that, the gears go apart again. What should I examine, or what is usually broken? Thanks, Tobias Claren
  7. Hi, wondered if anyone in kent/south east can point me towards a garage that will do the timing belt on grand voyager 2.5 crd. i have called around about twenty garages, all but one refused to even look at it, and the one that did wanted £1200.00 (more than the car cost me) I cant believe its that difficult to get a belt done.
  8. Hello fellow owners. My automatic gearbox started malfunctioning. (Only 1st and Reverse would engage) Can you please help me to identify if the attached part actually belongs to the 2.8 CRD automatic gearbox?
  9. Hi I was coming down a hill near us this morning and slid on the snow into a telegraph pole. Luckily not going fast so it only seems to be a smashed bumper a dented bonnet and a bend to the front bumper support bar. I've got a 2003 2.5 crd, and have found a 2001 3.3 petrol which is breaking for parts with a good front end, both 4th generation. Does anyone know if the parts will match as it's the closest colour I've found? Many thanks.
  10. Seems like Clapham is the place to be if you're a GV driver - there are 4 in Thurleigh road alone. If you're reading this "Hello" - or if you just found a flyer under your windscreen (which I haven't made yet, so that'll be a couple of days) - then thanks for signing up
