  1. have put the 26 inch on in asda michelin flat blades are half price £7.50 each not really gotten on with flat blades in the past as they dont seem to have the pressure like the fatter ones however the michelin are very chunky so have used them for the last couple of days without any problems not sure if the problem with the rain sweeping across the drivers window is sorted as wasnt raining when i was on the motorway - will keep you updated
  2. i was with Go Skippy for 2 years paying around £600. First year had only 3rd Party Fire & Theft. 2nd year had fully comp for the same price after phoning them up and saying i had cheaper quotes. 3rd year they wanted £1200!!!! So am with "40 plus car insurance" - paying £500 including the breakdown.
  3. a lot of people seem to suffer with the rain being dragged alongside the drivers window and making viewing out of the mirror nigh on impossible. i hope the deflectors solves the problem.
  4. thanks all for taking the time to reply. will use the 5w/30w full synthetic - just a shame i have the other oil left over and cant use.
  5. I have some oil left over that i used on my last car and wondering if its suitable for the voyager. Its tescos own make full synthetic 15w/40w and have about 6 litres left. Bought it when it was on offer at half price. I think the recommended is something like 5w/30w or 10w/30w but as i have enough left to do an oil change is it advisable? its a 2003 2.5 crd.
  6. i posted a few months back about those deflectors and remember someone said they looked ugly etc but i think they look fine. not got around to buying a set yet due to me having a few other problems on the car to sort out first. just wondered if the people who have the 28s fitted are having their mirrors obscurred as well - save me forking out for the deflectors (although still like them anyway)
  7. so it seems both can be used then. maybe i will try the 28s rather than take them back so i can see if there are problems with that size. i know at the moment i have the rain being swept across my driver side window obscurring the mirror - wonder if the bigger size stops this or minimises it at all? would it say anywhere in the manual etc what the correct size wiper should be?
  8. well i will go with the 26 inch then as it seems to be the general consensus. plus there are the 26s already on there. will take the 28s back and swap them. thanks daz
  9. thanks for the reply. on that site it says its 26 but on here it says 28 :- http://www.amazon.co.uk/CHRYSLER-VOYAGER-2001-2008-HYBRID-WINDSCREEN/dp/B009LPX3T0 what size do you have on yours???
  10. hi i have a 2003 grand voyager and trying to find out the correct size for the wipers seems to be a nightmare. they are either meant to be 28 or 26 inches depending on which sites you visit. Looking on ebay they seem to list them in both sizes for the same years. On there at the moment are a pair of 26 inch. Just wondered if there is preference to downgrade from a 28 to 26 so it sweeps better. I have bought a pair of 28 inch prior to me measuring them as i thought they were the correct size. So do I fit the 28 and if so are they better than the 26s or should i stick with the 26? I know responses on this site can be very limited but am hoping someone takes the time to reply. thanks
  11. thanks Penguin for replying and writing such a lengthy response i have never thought of wind deflectors as ugly. i have never ever had a car with them on and never bought a set myself so have no idea whether they are as you say they are. my partners dad has had them on his cars but i have never really noticed if there was any extra noise etc. so just make sure the windows are really clean and that will save the water running along the window blocking the mirror? it was pretty bad this morning - 70mph on motorway and window was practically full of the rain being dragged along it.
  12. have bought BERGH SHOCKS/SPRINGS and TOP MOUNTS all for £200 delivered they look pretty decent (came this morning) just wondered if anyone else has heard anything positive or negative about them? cant seem to find much about them doing a google search their website looks fine but not having much luck finding reviews
  13. anyone else having this problem? when its raining and driving on the motorway or dual carriage way at speed - does any else suffer from the rain being swept along onto the drivers window blocking the viiew of the side mirror? am sure i have seen a post about this somewhere. i am thinking of getting the wind deflectors - would this help at all? anything else i can do?
  14. I prefer the size of the seats in the non-stow and go but for convenience i would love the stow and go model in the future. although i am starting to wish i had never bought the thing. its in the garage more than me using it and the folder i have for it with all the service history etc is getting thicker by the day.
  15. thanks tomada3 for replying i thought i might have been doing something wrong. will try that method. yes i have a luggage cover so will have to take that out when needed.
  16. I have a 2003 grand voyager with a bench seat. I have tried to fold it forwards by pulling the black handle on the right hand side but it only seems to make the seat recline (lean backwards). I remember seeing a video on youtube of someone pulling the lever and the seat folded flat but my handle is either broke or I am doing something wrong? Any help or advice would be appreciated.
  17. Thanks Daz for replying. My garage charges £40 an hour - no vat - so expect it to be about 2 hours then to change? I am not handy enough to do the in-line thermostat.
  18. How much did it cost to fit and supply for the thermostat? Just so i have a rough idea of cost please? Is it an hour job or longer?
  19. copied this for you. hope it helps. Happened to me as well. I first had it give me an error with disk 6 flashing so I removed it, put it back in and the lights would flash from 3 left to 3 right. I removed the DVD changer from the car again, removed the top (one screw), removed the black face plate (4 screws and carfully pry up on the bottom tabs when pulling it forward. I then took out the five screws holding the changer (four on top, one in the back) and removed the changer so I could get to the bottom. There is a set of wheels on the bottom that I started to turn which was easy at first but it seemed to reach a point where it was stuck so I gave it a bit more and something seemed to snap into position. So I assume that it was just the mechanism that jammed when it tried to switch disks. I put it back together, installed it, and it works fine now. When it first started all the lights would flash but then it settled down to a single light and I ejected the first 3 disks and number 6 and let it play the forth. Now to see how long it lasts.
  20. Hi. I copied this off another post for you. This light is only used for DIESEL ENGINE powered vehicles. Vehicles equipped with the diesel engine are equipped with a supplemental cabin heater. This cabin heater is mounted under the vehicle and operates similar to an oil fired furnace. The heater burns small amounts of fuel to provide additional heat to the coolant. Coolant is routed from the engine, to the supplemental cabin heater and then to the front heater core. This provides additional heat to the passenger compartment. The supplemental cabin heater system is interfaced to the vehicles on-board computer systems and the scantool diagnostics. The supplemental cabin heater has an electronic control module that monitors the heat output of the heater. The cabin heater operates at full load (5 kW), half load or idle mode (no additional heat) depending on engine coolant temperature. When ambient temperatures are lower than 15° C (60° F), the supplemental cabin heater automatically operates once each ignition cycle for five minutes. This assures a good fuel supply is always present for the supplemental cabin heater.
  21. I have had my voyager for 2 weeks and have a few minor issues which are getting sorted but i have noticed that my turbo does not seem to spool/whistle when it kicks in? just wondered if anyone else has noticed this or is this just normal? not even sure if it does work/kick in really as am new to owning it. there is plenty of power going up hills - just no turbo whistling my voyager is a 2003 crd lx 2.5 diesel manual
  22. hi spannermonkey i too am new to chryslers and my voyager is a 2003 2.5 crd manual diesel. mine too has a few niggles. its been in the garage today having wheel bearing (ouch - so expensive) and front pads. also drained and refilled the gearbox oil. had mine 2 weeks so far. i love it but think i am going to be seeing the garage on a regular basis.
  23. hi stevec i have just joined the forum too. i dont have any help about any of the problems you are having but thought i would introduce myself. There does not seem to be many people responding to peoples problems on here. There are plenty of views from people looking and searching but answers seem to be very few. I have owned my voyager for 2 weeks - its a 2.5 diesel manual 03 plate. I am useless with a spanner so garage bills are something i will have to get used too.
