  1. I had this problem and tried many things mentioned here. A diesel specialist in Egham found it was the fuel rail, which he reconditioned. No more cut outs since.
  2. Hi it was the fob battery - I’ve also tried two new batteries so I’ll clean the contacts tomorrow. Thanks
  3. Hi I changed the battery on my 2007 Grand Voyager and it’s now not working. I have one other working key fob. I’ve looked online and tried various ignition on off procedures with no joy. any ideas please? thanks
  4. We had the cutting out and total loss of power in our 2007 2.8 CRD Numerous trips to various garages - fuel filter housing fuel heater wires and EGR valve checked and replaced abroad on holiday. Nothing worked and we kept getting total loss of power until I took it to a diesel specialist who said the fuel rail needed to be reconditioned/repaired. It’s not been a problem since thankfully
  5. Hi Could anyone recommend a garage that could check my oil pressure? The light has been on for a few days and my local garage near Kingston (SW London) day they can’t “talk” to the car to check it. Just as I’m getting to the end of a brutal divorce, no money so hoping this isn’t something major, else it’s bye bye Grand Voyager. Thanks in advance

  7. Hi I was moving a load of my children’s bikes and somehow managed to sever the rear parking sensor display. There are three wires now hanging down and I’ve looked online for info on how to put them back but have had no joy! Do any of you know how they should be put back? Many thanks
  8. So- AP Diesels fixed/reconditioned the fuelrail and the car seems fine- starting first time. We will have to wait until summer to see if the engine cutting out problem has been fixed. Thanks everyone for your suggestions and help
  9. I just heard from AP Diesels- they said there is a fault in the fuel rail, which is likely to be causing the starting problems and the engine cutting out too.
  10. Greenflag came today as the battery was flat from trying to start it yesterday - he put some quick start in and it started fine, I've now taken it to AP Diesels to see if they can find out whats wrong. Will let you know. Thanks
  11. Hi. Our 2.8 CRD has some issues - not sure if these are linked: firstly it's had problems starting - repeatedly turning it over and it doesn't seem to fire, this started a year ago and happened randomly, now it happens every day- it could start fine then afew hours later it won't start. It's so bad now that the battery regularly gets depleted. The other more serious problem started when we were driving back from Devon and had been stuck in traffic on a hot day, when the traffic cleared I pulled off and at about 30mph the whole engine cut out along with all power steering and power brakes. I pulled over and called my breakdown people. 10 minutes later I tried the engine and it stared and drove fine for a few weeks. We then went to France last summer, got stuck in traffic and again, when we pulled off the same thing happened- total loss of power but then the car started and drove fine for 500 miles. When I got to the south of France we put the car into a RAC approved garage, who said the diagnostics said we needed a new EGR valve. €800 later the next day, the car had problems starting again and on the way down to spain, at 80 mph we had the same loss of power. I checked this forum and found posts suggesting the rear fuel heater or its leads could be at fault, so we had those changed at a garage. On our drive back home we had about 3 more losses of power.. Since the summer we've had no more power losses, but as mentioned at the start of this post, it's now not starting at all well- it turns over but doesn't fire. I called our local Chrysler dealer, who denied all knowledge of the loss of power being a known problem with voyagers. So we really don't know what to do at this point? In the summer I got these codes from doing the key dance: 165.1 168.5 040.3 Thanks in advance for any advice or suggestions for what we should ask a garage to look into.
  12. Thanks Crispinchurch Strangely, the engine fault light has stopped coming on without us having done anything to the car
  13. Hi Andy I think the decimal points can be ignored then the codes seem to correspond with Chrysler engine error codes. It's a 2.8 automatic and we were braking a lot going down the mountain
