  1. QinteQ that's the naughty little thing... It has been given a stern warning that it is never to let me down again! ;-)
  2. As Inspector Cleusau would say, the problem she is sol-ved! Loose spade connector on the starter motor. Crimped up and now starting. Thank you all for your help and advice.
  3. Thank you both, I have a chap coming to do some brake work on my Sebring tomorrow and he is aware of the problem. I will point him towards the underside of the GV, prime him and let him fly. Hopefully he will work some magic. The battery is 3 years old (Halfords) and after I wasn't happy with the way it was behaving a couple of years ago, they tested it and it was showing just about 12.5 volts. Hmm, I'm sensing a theme here! I will update as and when.
  4. My '04 GV 2.8 diesel auto was running fine Saturday afternoon. Turned off for a few minutes and now won't turn over in 'P' or 'N'. Have tried charging the battery (7 hours on trickle charger), jump leads from another vehicle with engine running for an hour, disconnecting the negative lead for about 30 minutes, all to no avail. When I turn on, all dash lights are fine and extinguish as they should, wash/wipe works, heater fan ditto but when I turn the key the clock goes out and the heater fan drops speed. Makes no difference if I turn fan off. Before I get it towed to a garage does anyone have any bright ideas? Thinking gear position reader or starter? Any help gratefully received.
  5. Newbie question, I have recently bought an '04 convertible Limited and whenever I try to activate the heated rear window I hear a chime from the dash, but the 'tell tale' light doesn't illuminate. Has anyone had this fault and if so, how was it cured? I am presuming there is a faulty wire somewhere in the hood itself. Many thanks for any help.
