TJB got a reaction from Deltamike in On Autotrader; 1.4 Sr Only 16K Miles
Enjoy the car, it looks an absolute belter. I'm not keen on white cars, but the Delta just seems to suit it, especially with the black roof.

TJB reacted to Deltamike in On Autotrader; 1.4 Sr Only 16K Miles
Hi, hopefully this car is going to be mine! The low mileage is due to it being a Guernsey car, so low miles but perhaps a bit more clutch abuse. I've put a deposit on it, just waiting now for the dealer to get a UK registration & MOT for it.
I would say it hasn't seen many harsh winters and salty roads etc., however I suppose it has lived in a coastal environment as Guernsey is so small you can't really get away from the sea. I couldn't find any corrosion though, there's a tiny mark on the n/s/r bumper up where it meets the wing and signs of it being stood about (leaves & cobwebs around the under bonnet scuttle area etc) but other than that the exterior is lovely, the wheels & interior are pretty much immaculate.
As a long time Lancia fan & owner of an original Delta this one will be getting the re-badge treatment to remove the C-word!

TJB got a reaction from MikeyRules in Testing The Water - Delta For Sale?
Good news that it's found a decent home. I missed out on about 5 in the 4 months or so I was looking, so 2 years really is dedication to the cause.
I know what you mean about the car getting under your skin, I've found the same thing. Not since my long-term affair with the Rover 75 / MG ZT (15 years and counting), has a car drawn me in as much.

Good work TJB - The MultiAir had a much larger CHRYSLER logo?!

I used some carbon fibre wrap and a 60mm wheel centre badge from eBay on my engine cover. Seems to be holding up so far...
There's a thread on here of my "brand re-alignment" project.

Looks great fella! Top work!
I keep looking at the headrests and the engine cover, but haven't got around to either yet.

Thanks.Good question re. the filter, I honestly don't know. It was the correct one for the car from K&N direct. Having used them in the past, this one didn't feel oily.
Thanks, I used double sided carpet fixing tape, it sticks well to the back of the iron-on patch and, if briefly warmed up first with a hot air gun, sticks well to the head rest.

Think I'm done with the re-badging now.
I wanted to cover the "wings" on the head rests, but most of the Lancia patches I found were too small, so I found these Momo ones that are a perfect size.
I kept the same theme going for the kick plates:
...matching one of my favourite wrist watches :
I also knocked something up for the engine cover with carbon fibre wrap and a wheel centre badge, may have to re-think this later, but it does for now:
So, other than the MFD logo, I think I'm about done.
In other news, I've replaced the air filter with a K&N item. At least I won't have to do that job again for a while. Replaced the pollen filter as well, what a pig of a job that is.

My First post!
Just to let you all know I am the proud owner of 2013 Delta S MOMODESIGN in white.. Wonderful car and has had the full Lancia badges sorted, also the Sill plates and the airbag.
Not many of us about, ... Is there any meetings planned for next year? I am based in Norfolk..
Hope to post some pics very soon....

Yeah that's all normal Tim. Doesn't it make a massive difference having a Lancia badge in front of you!
I stopped after all exterior badges, sill plates and airbag. I meant to do the engine cover and headrests but never got round to it. I even tried to find the setting in Examiner to change the the start up file to Lancia on the info display. But for some reason couldn't find it.

That's the airbag swapped over. Didn't take very long at all. The new one from Italy had the right connectors, so it's all good.
I did have a slightly worrying moment after I re-connected the battery and started the car; all sorts of warnings flashed up on the MFD. However after I'd driven a few feet and turned the steering wheel they all went away. I've stopped and re-started the car since and it hasn't done it again. I guess it was re-learning stuff after the battery disconnect

Same thing really, after the 20 minutes I like to join the positive and negative leads together with a single jump-lead, just to ensure full discharge of any errant capacitor!

No providing you power down the car properly you should be fine. -
TJB reacted to Andrewgrale in Hello Lancia, Goodbye Chrysler
If I remember correctly, someone here suggested using a 3mm flat end Allen key to unclip the airbag retaining spring? Well it was good advice and has saved me a lot of grief !!!!
-
TJB reacted to MikeyRules in Hello Lancia, Goodbye Chrysler
The spring clips can be hard to locate by feel at the back of the steering wheel. From memory you'll need to break the seal as the leather covers the holes. Use a flat blade screwdriver (long one) to poke down the holes to locate the spring clips, and once you think you can feel them at the end of the driver push firmly and you feel one side release...obvs repeat for the second one too.

Sounds about it Thanks - I'm actually surprised they fit - The SR Diamond cut wheels have a centre cap with a raised centre to accommodate the sticky-out hub which they appear to not have. Glad they fit though - I have been caught out by not getting the exact ones before.

An ypsilon cover can be put on a delta bag of that helps (bag is different but cover identical, it's not difficult to swap covers). I would probably swap over the bag (or at least the bomb whatever it's called, gas generator?) even if you got a Delta one as at least you know your original is good. Be aware that I think I've read that some late bags have different connectors. -

Nice pics well done on the rebadging.
When I bought my delta the last service was from these guys
http://www.njsalfaromeo.co.uk/
They mentioned they had done a rebadge for another delta around 700 for full rebadge including software load up screen and steering wheel etc

They're cracking cars to be honest. Both me and Neil (Nello) never intended keeping them so long, but the problem is what else could you get for the money?
The Alfa Romeo Giulietta is way more expensive and not as practical for rear legroom or boot space. You wouldn't buy the Fiat Bravo over the Delta even though they're the same underneath... I don't really like much that isn't Italian, so for me unless I went for an older Alfa most of which I've owned before, I'm stuck lol.

TJB got a reaction from Cassino in Hello Lancia, Goodbye Chrysler
…. and so it begins.... Grille, rear badge and wheel centres all fitted. The little Lancia shields for the rear quarters are on their way from Italy. Just the interior stuff to source now.
And on Tuesday she goes in for a service, new belts and water pump.
As I was passing Loch Lomond, it seemed rude not to stop for a Kodak moment...
