  1. Thank you for that valuable information. I don't have that problem (yet - and hopefully I won't) but it's good to know the fix is relatively easy.
  2. If you prefer paper, you can use the Haynes Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town And Country manual. 2008 thru 2012. This book is aimed at the US market and therefore does not cover RHD or Diesel models. Nevertheless it is still very useful.
  3. I believe the system can be disabled by the dealer. It is an option accessed via the Witech. In the UK TPMS is compulsory for all passenger vehicles since November 2014. As yours is older than this it can be done without breaching any regulations.
  4. I have used this company. Based in London and very helpful. If they haven't got what you want, they will source it for you. JeepChryslerParts.co.uk
  5. I found this: I think it's what you're looking for https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2008-2015-Voyager-Grand-Voyager-Owners-User-Manual-Guide-Operating-info/182404788452?hash=item2a782c30e4:m:mEMO5k0hZiBlzOTpr75e62A
  6. I have a user manual with my 2011 GV. If you need any info in particular I will be happy to look it up for you.
  7. I have never had a mark 4. I've had my mk 5 for four years now and I have put nearly 60k miles on it. The previous owner didn't take care of it and left me with a few bits and pieces to sort out. Saying that, the car has never let me down. My gearbox has been fine but I will be changing the fluid soon as it's now approaching 100K miles. I do my own servicing regularly using good quality parts and fluids. My issues so far: Rear seats would not stow - fixed. Radio occasionally locked up - fixed Air con leak - fixed Front caliper binding - fixed Rear caliper binding - fixed Driver's seat would not adjust more than 1 inch forward or backwards - fixed. As you can see, there has been nothing major. Fingers crossed it stays that way.
  8. Fixed it! I finally got my seat working properly again. I had already eliminated the switches as the cause, leaving only the seat module or (so I believed) the position sensor. Today I finally got an opportunity to remove the seat module. A replacement module would have fixed the problem, but I didn't have one to try, so I decided to see if I could find anything wrong with this one. It came apart easily enough and I was able to get at the circuit board. I began by unsoldering all the connectors and relays, then soldering them up again, just to make sure there were no dry joints. Then I noticed the pins of the power connector were slightly bronzed in colour. They were tarnished. I cleaned them with a fibre pencil, reassembled the module and refitted it to the car. The seat now works perfectly. Result!
  9. The alarm is triggered by door, bonnet & tailgate switches. Also there are internal ultrasonic sensors and a tilt sensor in case someone tries to tow it away. You can rule out the internal sensors by switching them off. To do this, when locking the car press lock on the key fob 3 times within 15 seconds.
  10. Unfortunately no. My reader is just a basic "one size fits all" and not geared towards any particular brand.
  11. I don't think your problem was quite the same as mine. I also have an electronics background. I have already swapped out the switches but it made no difference. I haven't been able to obtain a seat module so am unable to check that. I am still hoping to get one, even to borrow just to prove the point. My final idea is to fit a new changeover switch directly to the forward/backward motor, but I would then lose the memory function.
  12. I received the pdf's. Thank you very much for those. It's a fair bit of reading I recognise the schematic you posted though. I have the same disc. It's very handy and worth having. Just a bit of a pain to configure the system so that the wiring diagrams show properly. Got there in the end though.
  13. Thank you for your offer. I will PM you my email address. I'd like to get this thing sorted. It almost failed the MOT this year because the seat couldn't be adjusted correctly.
  14. Thank you. I am not sure which diagrams you are referring to. I have the T&C manual which doesn't cover diesel engines, and also the Chrysler Workshop CD Manual which again has schematics, but they only go as far as block diagrams. I should really double check this. However, if there are only switches and a module, then because the switches have already been eliminated as a possible cause, either the module is faulty or there is some issue with the wiring. I guess my next step is to see if I can obtain a known functional module. Although, it does occur to me that since you say you're experiencing the same problem then this is perhaps a known issue - and someone somewhere (probably working for Chrysler) knows the cause and how to remedy it.
  15. Oh. I just googled p0740 code. I got this: When the code P0740 is set in the Powertrain Computer, it means that the Powertrain Computer or PCM is seeing greater than a 200 RPM difference between the rotational speed of the Torque Converter and the Transmission Input Shaft. You clearly know your way around cars, but this sounds like a possible fix by replacing the trans fluid?
  16. Thank you SpAwNtoHell. I appreciate all the help I can get. It is not the switch though. There are four switches on the pcb, two sets of twins. Only one switch was suspect, but interchanging it with the other one made no difference at all.
  17. So in my search for an answer (see another post about a strange acting power seat), I came across a land rover forum where someone had the same problem as I have. They didn't say whether their issue was finally sorted though. Does anyone know where exactly to find the seat position sensor and what it looks like? Many thanks
  18. I posted this on the American forum, but drew a blank. I thought I may try my luck here, Hi everyone. I would really appreciate any help or advice on this one. My driver's seat (RHD, but I don't think it really matters) is acting strangely. All the functions work correctly except forward and back. If I try to move the seat forward it will move for perhaps half an inch, then stop. I can hear the relay clicking in and out. The same applies when I try to move the seat backwards. Sometimes it will move maybe 2 inches before cutting out. If I use the preset memory functions there is no problem. The seat then moves to it's stored memory position without any problem. The seat also behaves correctly when the key is inserted and removed. Can anyone shed some light on what might be the cause? It would be much appreciated.
  19. Presumably you purchased one of them. Did you get the Launch or the Autel?
  20. If you decide to go for it, please let me know how well it performs. I would be very interested if it is all it claims to be. My own tool is nothing more than a cheap bluetooth ELM327 dongle and the torque app, but it has always met my uncomplicated needs.
  21. I once used a dashcam connected to the permanently live power socket. I returned to the car after a couple of days to find the battery flat. After using my booster to start the car, the EML stayed on. The code given was that of low system voltage. I decided not to switch off the EML but to wait and see what would happen now that the problem was no longer present. The EML went out by itself after a few days. Perhaps yours will too if no fault is present any more. It could have been a hiccup. I would give it about a week then if it is still on a trip to the dealer might be on the cards.
  22. The last link shows what happens if there is no code to display. It seems the car's on board diagnostic agrees with your cheapo.
  23. Unfortunately the above side bars don't fit Stow n Go models
  24. The video is exactly how I do it too. Do you turn the key from off to position 2 and back to off? I don't think it works from 1 to 2 then back to 1.
