FWIW, I just swapped to a mk5 from a mk4 GV. I drove it back to Yorkshire from Brighton with no problem, but when I cane to it in the morning, the battery was dead. I swapped it out for the battery from my mk4, which is still sitting on the drive, but that was almost dead, as she's been sat a good while. I tried juno staying the mk5, but it just wouldn't catch.
I was getting pushed due time so I resorted to the old trick of opening up the air filter cover, giving it a quick squirt of WD40, cos the cover and trying it again.
Started first time.
I don't like doing this, as I feel it can't do the paper filter any good, but I've been doing this for 25 years and it's always worked, lol.

Hey, can I piggy back on this thread with a similar topic?
I just got an 08 2.8 CRD. We previously had a 54 2.5 CRD manual. I've never had an automatic before, and it's taking some getting used to; it seems like when I'm pulling away from stationary, I get really high revs as it goes through the first few gears, like up to around 3000rpm. Is this normal?

Thanks Mike, I'll check it out, when I get a chance.

Ah, so a slightly blocked hose can't supply enough when demand is high?
Kinda like a heart attack, lol.

Great thread. This is a job I desperately need to do - all my bushes are badly corroded/degraded. I intend to replace the anti roll bar bushes AND the links.
One question: do I need to somehow take pressure off, before undoing the bolts (ie by jacking the car up? I worry about undoing something I can't put back!

Hmmm, I was reading this thread only yesterday thinking 'what a nightmare' then today, on the motorway (same engine: 2.5 diesel), I was overtaking at just over 75mph, going uphill, giving it maybe 2500-2800 rpm and the engine warning light came on, along with significant loss of power.
I put the clutch in immediately, the light went off, and power was available again.
I then drove 300 miles, going between 55 and 70mph, with no repeat of the episode (I didn't thrash it again though, lol).
I wonder if it's related to your problem?

They look nice.

I'll have to go and look in the garage - it was given to us by my brother in law, when we bought our Galaxy, years ago. He had recently sold his Galaxy and had the roofbox and bars in an out building, assembled. We just attached the whole assembly to ours, without ever looking at it too closely, lol

Hi there! And welcome.
The roof bars on the Voyager work well, I use a Thule Motion 800 and can't tell it's on.
I presume you would just use your roof box and clamp it the the Chrysler rails.
The bars adjust very easily, flip up (easier said than done if they've not been moved for a while) the lever each side and slide along to where you want it - aligned with the tiny arrows though - and push (hard) back down.
Oh, ok. I didn't really know that I'd be able to use the existing bars. So I can do away with the Thule bars and feet altogether then?

how about this one - its what I'm going to fit to my '04

These look good - I was looking at them for my new Chrysler, as the ones currently fitted look past their best:
Looks like the problem of standing water has been addressed by using a round profile?

Hi everyone - I'm picking this up on Saturday: http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201707067112205?make=CHRYSLER&advertising-location=at_cars&maximum-mileage=100000&model=GRAND%20VOYAGER&postcode=wf149lq&sort=sponsored&radius=1500&price-to=3500&onesearchad=Used&page=1
Any general advice?
Also, more specifically, I want to attach my existing Thule roofbox (square section bars) and take the family to Ireland in it in August, so anyone with roofbox/rail experience gladly welcomed!
