Timing Belt and Water Pump

Question

Hi Guys,

I have just bought a 05 plate Voyager 2.5CRD with 186,000 on the clock.

For it's age and mileage the car is generally in excellent condition however the P.O. (who had the car for 10 years) has allowed the maintenance to slip! There are several jobs of various degrees of urgency to do. I can not find any indication of when the timing belt was last changed so will do this first. I am a reasonably competent home mechanic and intend to do the work myself.

Two questions...

Does anyone have a cam wheel locking tool I can borrow? (I am near Carlisle but am happy to pay postage.)

Water pump... Is it OK just to change the front plate and impellor assembly only if there is no leak at the crankcase flange? This will be a lot easier... Or should I replace the pump body and flange to crankcase "O"ring seal?

Thanks in advance, Em
