Delta Climate Control

Cannot see anything in the handbook but does anyone know if theres a certain temperature threshold whereby the AC will not kick in?

A chilly 5 degrees this morning and I noticed that when trying to clear the screen - although the green light was on by the AC switch - the snowflake symbol on the display would not illuminate and no compressor kick-in? Started the car later in the morning when it had 'warmed' up to +8 and all was fine?

It's the same in all modern Alfa's too Neil... I'm not sure on the exact temp but if you drive for a few mins you'll see the temp needle move off of it rest and then the air-con/demister will then start to blow.

 

I believe it's to stop the windows misting even more inside the cabin.

I think you'll find if you use the fast demist function it does cut in to dry the air but I've never looked that closely at it Edited October 9, 2015 by Rossocorsa

Thanks chaps but I always found the AC on first thing always helps to demist the screen with the de-humidified air? Hence why not let it work when below a certain temp?

Anyway all ok so far though I need another cold morning to confirm............ Will report back!
