Ypsilon Start/stop Issue

Hi Guys,

I am a new member and was grateful to find your site on the web.

We have just purchased a 2013 Ypsilon and since my wife has had the car the Stop/Start had never worked.

The main Fiat dealer at Oldbury has had the car in 4 times the last I let them have it for 5 days each time they say it is fixed but as soon as the car is up to temp and done the advised 12 miles it fails to work.

To that end I took it back to Arnold Clarkes as explained, where the service manager informed me that this is a common issue with the Fiat 500 which uses the same system and it is the sensor on the battery. He had it in and hey presto it works all the tile AND you do not have to do 12 miles in it.

So I wrote with disgust to the General Manager of the Oldbury dealership who passed it onto his Service manager who rang me and he informed me that it takes time to resolve issues, I asked him why a minor garage can fix it and the main warranty garage could not.

I  asked why did they not do tests over the 5 days to ensure that it worked as they had it 4 times now, I als informed him that I had taken a photo of the milometer and that only 7 miles had been put on the car when they inform us that we have t do 12 to ensure all systems are correct so why had they not done the 12, he replied that they only do 2 miles!

So I asked why tell us 12 and they do 2 could not answer.

During this phone call I could tell he had his own agenda and he was shouting over me which I then informed him on three occasions that I felt that I was being bulled and intimidated.

To put the icing on the cake while the car was in there it had three dents put on it.

To end I said that I was ending the call and was going to write to Arnold Clark himself and the head office as I said anyone can sell a car but the after sales service will make or brake and Company.

So after that has anyone else had issues on the Start/Stop on the Ypsilon

Regards

Wayne

Had similar issue on Delta, main Dealer in Nottingham kept saying it was the battery and needed to keep the car for overnight charge as they said start stop wont eork if the battery is not 100%charged which is not logic. Still never managed to get it working properly and ended up giving up on start stop. Can you tell me what didi the guys at the garage precisely do so that i might get an independent garage to sort it out for me.
