doingmynut Posted July 14, 2015 Report Share Posted July 14, 2015 I've read a lot of posts regarding battery draining problems, and having applied most if not all of the remedies offered by other members I still have the same problem! So....here goes......I have a 2008 4th generation Voyager, and the battery started draining a few months back. The sequence of 'strange' occurrences happen in the following order: 1) The indicators stop flashing on arming/disarming the alarm after a couple of days2) The alarm begins to sound of its own free will, and cannot be disabled by the remote fob, however the engine will still start and run quite happily.3) After the third/fourth day there is no charge left in the battery. I've had the electronics checked by an auto technician who tells me that whatever the fault if there is one, is intermittent and he couldn't find it. The Chrysler dealership says that I just need to drive longer journeys(?) and I've had the battery replaced with a brand new one. I have removed the ODI fuse in between use, but this doesn't prevent the drain at all. I've also tried the onboard diagnostics which shows P1685 (invalid skim) but the engine and indeed all of the car works fine when there is charge in the battery. Perhaps I'm missing something, which is why it's 'doingmynut' Oh, and when I reconnect the battery after charging, the radio retains the code and station presets, but nothing else. Is it possible that a relay has shorted and needs replacing, or maybe a replacement BCM or ECU is required. I'm determined to solve the problem as I love my Voyager, but I could spend many weeks and just as much money trying to solve the puzzle, so if anyone has any other suggestions then I'm all ears....Thanks for reading Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Penguin2007 Posted July 19, 2015 Report Share Posted July 19, 2015 Stupid response but.... Put a human in the boot, shut it down, reassure the 'child?' that you will let them out! Could be a light on in the boot - had a similar problem with my Uno years ago, dealership pulled hair out etc etc, new batteries (2?)
