Spark Plugs - 1.4 Multiair

Question

I know the owners manual states using NGK IKR9F8 spark plugs - but - I noticed elsewhere in a 2015 NGK catalogue that Fiat for the same engine is using IKR9J8.

Is there any advantage/disadvantage of using IKR9J8 or should I stick with IKR9F8 (which is the same as for the Alfa 1.4)

Any views/experience

Thanks

Hi Nello,

2012 SR+Nav.  Yes I have seen the 9F8 for similar cost but the 9J8 are over £50 per set.  Just seen on another forum the same question raised with a response from NGK saying it is just a new catalogue number being introduced gradually so the retailers can sell old stock of 9F8.

Those were the plugs I had seen as well.  The Fiat part number for plugs for my 2012 MultiAir is 55210685.  The other part number 55249868 is greyed out when I put my VIN number into Fiat Eper.

So I would assume the plugs are IKR9F8 (and happy if they actually tuned out to be IKR9J8)
