2.2 Cdr Not Getting Hot.

Question

Hi,

I have just picked up what I hope was a steal of a 2004 PT Cruiser 2.2 CDR.

The problem I am having is that it just does not get to normal temperature. This makes it fun in the cold morning's as it can take 30 mins to defrost the front screen.

Things I have tries so far:

1, Checked the water level.

2. Flushed the whole of the system.

3. Kicked it.

4. Tried to bleed the radiator (there is a little valve on the side of the radiator that is doing the square route of naff all so may be blocked?).

Could it be the thermostat staying open all the time?

I am also having problems getting details of the 2.2 Diesel.  Any body know a good source?

Regards

J
