  1. I've looked at doing this mod for a while now, but I have just invested in a redtop as my old low cca battery died yesterday and even my starter pack wouldn't get it going as it was so low (the car battery been discharged fully so many times I guess its finally given up). Does anyone now if the redtop should be charged at 14.4? Is it worth me doing the mod with a redtop?

    TIA

  2. Hi,

So I've sorted my GV with a replacement fuel filter and no longer get cutting out and she also starts okay most of the time as well. However I still get the odd time where the normal battery isn't man enough to start her (normally after shorter journeys) so I need to invest in something decent.

I've read all the threads on here and I know I should probably get a red top but I've been looking for similar and cheaper which slot straight in and have a decent CCA.

With that in mind can anyone with an ounce of know how tell me if they think the bosch in the link will do the job?

    Thanks chaps.

Edit: I don't want to hack the battery tray :-)

  3. Hi,

Can anyone tell me how easy it is to replace the fuel filter on a 2006 2.8crd? I think mine needs doing as its cutting out when accelerating but without any warning lights or limp mode and I've read a few threads that say to start there first.

So, if someone is able to explain just how easy or difficult it is I'll give it a go as there is a discount on eurocarparts atm.

    Cheers!

  4.  I've had 2 that have had cutting out issues, luckily, both times, it's been down to the fuel filter not being tight enough, and it drawing in air.

The 2002 2.5 had the filter at the rear, our 2006 has it up in the engine bay.

I think the wiring issue is caused by the housing cracking, which can let in air. It can also let out fuel, which causes the fault with the wiring.

Yeah thats what I've got, Might see if the filter needs tightening as well then, could be a quicker fix :-)

  5. Hi,

I've got (or should I say the wife has) a 06 diesel auto grand voyager stow and go. The problem(?) I have noticed is that filling it up only take around 50-55 litres of fuel and I thought the tanks on these were 75 odd litres? Can anyone enlighten me or does anyone think that for some unknown reason a previous owner could have had the tank replaced for a smaller capacity (although god knows why).

    Thanks in advance,

    Nath
