  1. @@QinteQ thank you for clarifying about the mod, I'll get it done :-)
  2. I've looked at doing this mod for a while now, but I have just invested in a redtop as my old low cca battery died yesterday and even my starter pack wouldn't get it going as it was so low (the car battery been discharged fully so many times I guess its finally given up). Does anyone now if the redtop should be charged at 14.4? Is it worth me doing the mod with a redtop? TIA Nath
  3. Hi, So I've sorted my GV with a replacement fuel filter and no longer get cutting out and she also starts okay most of the time as well. However I still get the odd time where the normal battery isn't man enough to start her (normally after shorter journeys) so I need to invest in something decent. I've read all the threads on here and I know I should probably get a red top but I've been looking for similar and cheaper which slot straight in and have a decent CCA. With that in mind can anyone with an ounce of know how tell me if they think the bosch in the link will do the job? https://www.tayna.co.uk/car-batteries/bosch/?ordering=&A-26=780&A-1=278&A-3=190 Thanks chaps. Edit: I don't want to hack the battery tray :-)
  4. Check the fuel filter housing, they can get hot and crack letting too much air into the fuel causing the engine shutdown, I had it a lot. If when you prime it you can hear air escaping it could be that, if you remove the fuel heater plug on the side of the housing and it is wet (after priming) then you have a cracked housing and it needs replacing.
  5. I had the same problem, did the pressure relief valve, didn't help, but was actually the standard issue of dodgy fuel filter housing. Replaced two days ago and now car is a dream. :-)
  6. Yes it was answered. I saw that thank you. I'll check the tightness of the current items before I replace but I guess as my car hasn't had a service for years I'm best replacing the filter anyway.
  7. Thanks for that, I think mine is in the engine bay and is hopefully a simple screw on but I'm really not sure. I'll take a look at your video and then decide if I can be bothered or pay someone! :-)
  8. Hi, Can anyone tell me how easy it is to replace the fuel filter on a 2006 2.8crd? I think mine needs doing as its cutting out when accelerating but without any warning lights or limp mode and I've read a few threads that say to start there first. So, if someone is able to explain just how easy or difficult it is I'll give it a go as there is a discount on eurocarparts atm. Cheers!
  9. Hi, The fuse for my drivers side electric seat has been blown for ages and I can't find anywhere that sells the right type of fuse. Can anyone help out at all? Cheers, Nath
  10. Yeah thats what I've got, Might see if the filter needs tightening as well then, could be a quicker fix :-)
  11. Hi, My wifes GV has the usual fault with the fuel pump wiring and the car cutting out. I need to get a new loom but can't find anywhere reasonable to get one, found one on ebay but it was £180 and that seemed a bit steep. Has anyone got a reliable supplier or had to get one recently? Your help would be much appreciated. Cheers, Nath
  12. Hi, I've got (or should I say the wife has) a 06 diesel auto grand voyager stow and go. The problem(?) I have noticed is that filling it up only take around 50-55 litres of fuel and I thought the tanks on these were 75 odd litres? Can anyone enlighten me or does anyone think that for some unknown reason a previous owner could have had the tank replaced for a smaller capacity (although god knows why). Thanks in advance, Nath
  13. Hi, So just decided to join as the wife wanted a Grand Voyager and we got one back in June and now I have some things I need to find out! (Namely our fuel tank seems smaller than it should) Take care all, Nath
