  1. its a cabled generic scanner, bought it on aliexpress, 25 euro thing. Have found out from mopar that all forward gears can stop working if solenoid pack is faulty. Haven't started to do any draining yet, dreading looking at the pan, have sampled to fluid, black/metalic look to it and doesnt smell great, explains why the solenoid code came up. For now im just waiting on all parts to arrive first. But i have the speed sensors as part of the filter kit so will change them regardless. Has been a nightmare trying to get the atf+4 in spain, its almost unheard of, so might be a clue in that as i doubt it has the right fluid to start with, and here in spain there are many places adverting dexron vi and various atf iii as being compatible, some even list for 40te/41te. Luckily i just searched every listed fluid on the Chrysler registered list. Only 1 available, so played it safe and ordered direct from the manufacturer. Still, ive learned its time consuming and parts are expensive, so if you see something going cheap, buy it quickly, even if you dont need it..lol
  2. Managed to bypass it today, i used a heat sensor i had from an electronics kit, used a cheapy obd scanner and it read all my transmission errors, much better than the onboard diagnostics which only gave the wonderful p0700 generic code, got all the codes and ordered some new parts, solenoid pack, filter kit, TCU, re-programmer which will be fun to try out, both speed sensors and battery temp sensor. So far bargin prices. Hopefully no replacing the transmission (fingers crossed)now just the aft to buy, so annoying that its so expensive. Will pass on any re-programing info/issues as time goes on, and i might even try out the updated performance enhanced firmware. But one step at a time. I'll be happy with just being able to drive forwards again..lol
  3. Its a real shame, i even come on here now just to see if there are any recent questions i can help with now, but not too many people here like you say.
  4. So i've been trying to use a scan tool on my grand voyager 2.8 crd lx and it doesnt connect to the ecu so i cant get any readings. I have since spent days researching this issue and i have found one small section in a repair manual that states that 2003-2007 grand/voyagers OBDii ports can become disabled if the temperature is outside of the battery temperatures high and low range. Unfortunately, one of the dashboards error codes refers to the PCM battery temperature sensor as not working, so i cannot test if this is true or not. I have ordered a new sensor and will check it once the part arrives. In the meantime, has anyone come across this? Is it true? I will update on my progress once i find the fix.
  5. Go to https://www.mopar.com sign up, its free, and use your vin number to add your vehicle. It gave me so much detail about my vehicle, most in depth specs i have ever seen, including colour of the paint along with paint code and touch up paint code. Also very useful as for some years and models, you can also download owner handbook, audio system handbooks too along with other stuff.
  6. OK, i have a 2007 grand voyager 2.8 crd lx. The only details i can find online about which transmission it should have says its the A604/41TE. According to my own research, these transmissions are normally marked with 966-16 AD. If that's correct, my problem is mine is marked 966 AE, so does anyone know if its also known by something else or are they actually the same?. If anyone that can point me in the right direction to help me find out the correct transmission model i have, that would be great. Or if further info is required, just let me know. Many Thanks in advance.
  7. Hi, i just got my first grand voyager, its a 2007 2.8 cdr lx, needs fixing up and some needed tlc. Does anyone know of a good website for buying interior spare parts such as seat flaps or parking brake latch? And any good websites for transmission master rebuild kits? Many thanks
  8. just found the expanded list of forums, didnt know i had to choose browse then forums and then a longer list appears. so i will try an updated version of this post there by the end of the week and remove this one if i can figure that out..lol But thanks again about the drying it out suggestion as it makes me feel a bit more confident that getting it all so wet might might be one possible cause to my issue.
  9. Already started to dry out as much as i can, going slowly so not to melt or over heat anything with my hot air gun, it has helped with the amount of errors that popped up using the key trick. I'm also aware of testing the trans fluid when running the engine and needs to be hot, but still shows as overfilled when hot or cold, but i have my fluid remover arriving Thursday so will try and get it to a good level and get a look to check its condition. Lastly, which is the correct section on here to post? i could only see 3 areas to post in and figured as im a newbie i should be post in the newbie section, maybe im missing a link to show a full list of sections to post in, so any help on that would be great too.
  10. Hi all, I'm having some odd transmission problems. Was driving well even with a slight over heating issue, but that was kept under control by not letting get to hot, constantly stopping to let her cool down and change the water on occassion. This caused a lot of wetness under the bonnet, maybe its a clue to the issue or maybe not. But after stopping off for a coffee at the services, went to pull out of the car parking space and bang, no drive forward or backwards. All gear options seems to sound like the gears aren't engaging/disengaging fully. Had her towed back home and after a day started her up and now reverse is working. I have checked transmission fluid level, appears to be overfilled so will be removing some once my hand pump arrives. And afeter another day of standing and trying her, she appears to be trying to find some bite to the forward gears, and reverse works better than ever. Has anyone had something similar happen? Can too much transmission fluid cause these problems? Could the water during water changes which went everywhere cause this by splashing on something it shouldn't? Any ideas would be great and I will do what I can and update as I go along. Thanks in advance.
