Hi any one removed the air intake manifold on a 2.8 crd engine for cleaning carbon if so best procedure if it was done by a workshop what they changed/ hours charged

This at random times not properly selecting first gear and when I try to accelerate from a stop it gives a sharp jolt before it pulls away in first

why is the grand voyager greyed out in the selection menu ??
