  1. Thanks - worth a try - but doesn't start at all with the MAP disconnected
  2. Great thanks for the reply and point towards possible starter circuit issue. Will have a look for the screen prob post. Cheers
  3. Hi. Thanks for the reply. That seems to be my next port of call- looking at coil pack, plugs leads etc. Someone else has mention MAP sensor ? Suppose some many things can go wrong.... and usually do ! DVD has never worked.... not had the car that long and look like there may have been an issue before I bought it as one of the four nuts securing it to roof is missing so it has been off before !!! Looks like there is a signal to the screen from plugging in a multimeter so guessing screen has gone - shame they're £300+ second hand for the overhead rail type !
  4. Thank you - I was hoping that someone would say that ! The car runs lovely otherwise and very smooth, no unusual sounds that point that way. The flex plate is well down the list now.. I'm sure it must be a sensor or ignition issue somewhere but so will keep looking
  5. Hi everyone, I've got a 2006 GV 2006 3.3. Fault code P0344 - Camshaft Position Sensor. Car drives lovely at cruising speed or light acceleration, no prob changing gears (auto) but anything over 2400 rpm or so then it coughs/splutters and holds back. Brand new Camshaft and Crankshaft sensors fitted (as I hear they're linked). Wiring at both sensors checked - both signal and supply terminals read 5v with engine running (without any drop in signal) or on turn over with ASD relay removed. Both ground teminals are also OK (+ve battery direct ready 12v). Anything else i'm missing here ? Reading a few posts of people having same issues and then changing the flex plate - with mixed results ? One thing I did notice when putting Crank Sensor in is that it drops in very easily, not a snug fit as expected or push/click into position, swivels easy too to put bolt back in ?? Anything else that could be causing this ? Rear tank fuel filter or pump Dodgy spark plug or lead Coil Pack PCM Fault (although feed seems ok) Cleared all faults, removed battery for 15+ mins. All faults remain off apart from P0344 Roof Mounted headrail DVD screen also not working. DVD player works fine, sound from speakers but nothing on the screen. Remote control works the DVD player OK but does not switch on screen at all. Thanks in advance for any help Dave
  6. Hi everyone, I have a 2000 W Reg 2.5 TD. The problem I have is when from I have acceleration in low gears from start - the car holds back for a second or two and I have to ease off throttle and/or dip clutch to get going again. The car doesn't cut out - just won't increase revs and holds back as if touching the brakes. I've looked any visible vacuum pipes. I thought i'd found the problem when I noticed the air intake pipe onto the turbo had a split around the end at the jubilee clip, but after temporarily taping it up (before a new one arrives) it makes no difference. Very frustrating. The car runs fine in higher gears and revs. Tried with MAF sensor unplugged. Also cleaned but still the same at low speed. All other pipes and connections seem ok. Not been scanned for any codes yet. Has anyone experienced this before ? Any help or advice very gratefully received. Thank you
  7. Hi Gordy Thanks for taking the time to reply - much appreciated. That's the direction I'm looking at first - transmission relay. I've also read that even an engine wash (guilty as charged) or driving in heavy rain could even affect if the TCM is exposed or under front left wheel arch. Are any of the 4 relays on the slam panel the transmission relay ?
  8. Hi I have a 2006 Grand Voyager 2.8 CRD. EML came on and the auto box was unable to change into 4th gear (drives fine lower gears) Just revving higher and higher in 3rd. Managed to limp it home and not moved since. Plugged in OBDII and fault p0891 transmission fault appeared - relay circuit high or always on ???? Has anyone dealt with this before ? Thank you in advance
  9. Hi Everyone I have a 2006 (55 Plate) 2.8 CRD Grand Voyager Limited XS. I only have one key and fob with it. The key works fine but the remote has lost its sync closing and opening the central locking / alarm setting. The central locking all works fine from inside using the driver's door lock. Is there a simple procedure for re-syncing the fob to the car ? Apologies in advance if this has been asked many times before !! It's a five button remote fob, lock and unlock plus the 3 for the sliding doors and tailgate - No Panic button I spoke to the Service Dept at my local dealer in Kent and they said there was no programming required..... just hold the unlock button for 20 seconds ??? !!!! Also have issues with passenger sliding door not stopping when opened electronically, just returns to close again straight away Many thanks for any help in advance Regards Dave
  10. Hi Everyone ! I have a 2000 Voyager 2.5 TD I recently jacked the car up to inspect all the brakes and in doing so put the car in gear to help stop any rolling along with the usual wheel chocks. After finishing the job on the brakes I dropped it back to the ground and tried to move off. Obviously putting the clutch down to start, no problem but trying to select a gear was impossible. Lifting the clutch the car moves forward, seemingly stuck in 3rd but unable to change to any other gear once the clutch is depressed again !! I got underneath and saw both the selector and crossover cables still connected to both the gearbox and gearstick (removing surrounding centre console). From inside the engine bay, underneath the air intake pipe and brake master cylinder, I am able to manually move the selector in and out a fair way but not any side to side motion and the crossover also seems to move OK? Some have suggested the clutch release bearing but I think this is ok as the car goes into neutral again when depressed. I am also able to physically push the car (why didn't i get a lighter one!) up and down the drive over some distance (with the engine off/nobody at the wheel) and the engine/box vibrate at certain times as it seems to go through a gear but I am able to push through it ok ???? Does anyone have any ideas ? Gearbox selector problem ? Any advice greatly appreciated Kind regards Dave
