ForzaLancia got a reaction from Cassino in Confirmation It's Italian
Up to now my bella has been very reliable, however bad things come in threes
1) cannot get the sump plug off as some grease monkey thought he was putting on a wheel bolt, will have to be drilled out, even a chisel wont shift it
2) water leak, from the thermstat housing pie I think, where the securing bracket is moulded onto the main pipe, looks like it may be fractured
3) leak from the washer bottle
all because cleaned my Alfa spider and not her.

ForzaLancia got a reaction from Nello in Exhaust For 1.4 Chrysler Delta M-Air Se
Only the middle bit is different as the Delta is longer. -
ForzaLancia got a reaction from Andrewgrale in Satnav Muted
Sorted.
Indeed it was press and hold the mute button, but the one on the unit rather than the one on the steering wheel. Having a youngster on the passenger seat while I was driving helped!
Cheers for the heads up.

ForzaLancia got a reaction from TJB in Springs
don't do it, I have lowered springs on 18in rims and the ride is too harsh, going to KYB after Xmas

ForzaLancia got a reaction from Nello in Recommended Parts Supplier
I have had a bit (well, alot) of difficulty find the correct dampers for my 2.0, these guys on Italian ebay were excellent
https://www.ebay.co.uk/str/dcrricambiauto
based in Catania in Sicily, but the parts were here in 72 hours, only one day longer than being supplied the wrong ones in the UK, and there were cheaper. Currently two rear dampers are half the price one on UK damper on ebay so they are very good on price too. Communication was excellent (through google translate!)
Grazie mille!

ForzaLancia got a reaction from Cassino in Cambelt
First proper job is going to be the cambelt. Although the 84k service was done, the cambelt was not, doubtless on cost if the car was being moved on. Made it to 111k so far without snapping, so hopefully will stay intact long enough to get to the motor factors and back.

Cheers, it does look a handsome thing, Perla Sironi is the colour, sometime silver, gold, beige and a bit lilac
It has done 112k miles but not real evidence of wear and everything works which bodes well for all Delta owners, the wheels are perhaps the only sign of use having corroded in a few places, that said they have been banged into the kerb a few times. Equipment seems standard for an LTD, no sunroof, Bose, magic parking etc
It probably would have gone for less in the auction had I not been there, it stalled at £1350 and it was me versus one other guy so went up to £1650 and he quit as I guess his margin was disappearing, whereas it was still good price for me.
Next stop. Italian ebay.

ForzaLancia got a reaction from TJB in Took The Plunge....
Managed to bag a 2.0 LTD from the car auctions at Blackbushe on Friday, just over £2k including buyers fees. So far only driven it back and clean inside (twas filthy) but looks pretty tidy bar one scrape on the rear bumper.
It seems like it has lived in and around Oxford/Reading area looking at the receipts I found (2013 was the oldest!) yet the radio was tuned to Radio Stoke. The speed warning was set to 75mph so hopefully a cautious owner!
Will have the chance today to give it a more thorough look at, and to dig up those threads on getting those Chrysler badges off.

ForzaLancia got a reaction from vincey832 in 2.0 At Bca Manchester
Rather nice 2.0 at auction next week, and it's a bit of a looker. In dark metallic bronze and cream leather interior. Not seen one like this in RHD, would this be a press car or one for a motor show or similar? Either way, its unfortunate it 100 miles from me and I'm at work. -

Ask the driver how the auto box feels when pulling away. If you can also get him to try reverse too. If you stand by the car while it's in line and before it goes through the block you'll get time.
I try and go the day before auction and blag the keys from the key office. then although you'll be hemmed in by other cars at least you can crawl all over it, dip the oil/check fluids etc, look at the service book, and generally get a good feel for the car.
