  1. Hello all, well the part got changed and the phone call came to say that the replacement part is faulty Asked to put old one back in while wait fo rnew one and told total would be £450 quid for basically nothing so I have abandoned the car until the new part comes. All the original error codes disappeared only to be replaced by a new one P0871 OD Pressure funtion rationality The garage say it must be the new part as all original error codes gone so this must be to do with the new solenoid pack. Car now drives in reverse but only moves forward about a foot before the engine revs high and gears don't engage. Anyway, hopefully the next solenoid pack won't be duff but I am v worried in case it is something else that is causing the problem now as the seller seemed very confident in his rebuilds.... He was v pro though and refunded the money without even asking to send the part back to the states. New replacemnt is 70 quid more and they say they have specialised testing equipment especially for these T62 packs which apparently most don't so fingers crossed this will fix all the problems..
  2. Hello all, well my transmission solenoid part has arrived today finally! Does anyone know roughly how long it should take the garage to replace it, am guessing 3 or 4 hours labour?? Credit card taking more hits again just want to prepare myself Thanks

  4. Hi, when this problem started arising around a year ago I had the transmission fluid changed so not sure this needs doing again already? I cannot remember the codes but as I recall they pointed to 3/4/5 gears solenoid malfunction so hopefully replacing the 62TE transmission solenoid box should do the trick, fingers crossed!
  5. Thanks for the info, I will wait to do the timing belt then, assuming I have not scrapped the car by then
  6. Hello all, Well ( aside from many other problems with my tank) after a dry spell my car has decided to once again limp around in 3rd and this time it isn't going away ;( The transmission solenoid is to blame so I have ordered the part from the states. It has taken me a while to find a garage willing to do the job but now I am good to go. My question is what else would you get changed at the same time i.e do you think it is worth replacing timing belt/water pump( due in another 12k miles) or anything else while at it? I assume that this will be accessible when they replace the transmission solenoid? Thanks in advance for any comments! If I can get the car to work properly again I might try and fix all the other problems!!
