  1. Hello all, I've got a 2006 2.8 and have been having various starting trouble. Until today it has been slack on cold starts, usually starting before the battery goes flat - tends to be weekend use only and a couple of weeks drains it - on the 6th or so turnover. I'd changed the rail pressure overpressure valve and that had no effect. I now suspect that it may be more due to to the fuel filter housing. I have the one with the manual primer pump between engine and rad. The pump bulb is always 'limp' and starting improves when primed, though it's usually a couple of turns of the key before it does. Recent inspection of the filter housing heater connector which was very charred has lead me to buy a new filter housing and replacement loom conn set (issue pre and post recent filter changes) which I'm yet to fit. The recent cut out at 50mph on a dual carriageway prompted me to look into that more... Anyway, the problem today for the first time is that it didn't want to turnover at all. After about 2 mins of on and off etc with the key it eventually turned over a little and then nothing, repeating the same pattern for about 10 mins until on only the third brief turnover in that whole time it started. All fine for the journey. Then for the return journey almost 20 mins of the same until an eventual start (wife busy on hold with the AA for most of that time who she didn't even get through to at all...!!). Battery voltage is not bad. I suspect wiring to the starter or the starter solenoid (a wiggle or two of the cables was about all I could manage with no tools today!). Any thoughts would be welcome! Thanks.
  2. To be fair the PN was one of those you'd quoted @@bignev, just missing the 'po' prefix so that would've found it. Just happened to be the world's cheapest on ebay for a little while, other than the Chinese new ones which I was advised by the sellers would not work. The kids are keen, yes. Trouble is we need to find someone to drive us now...
  3. Just to report back. I've now got hold of a remote from the US via eBay and it did the trick. Took a while to arrive, but as soon as it did the kids and I all sat in the back for the unveiling, and it worked! In this case the remote PN is po5082013aa. Got another different type on the way from the US which was ordered in case. I'll let you know how that goes too. Now for headphones!
  4. I see, thanks to both of you. Mines a stow and go too and I suspect that's the difference ie as Bignev says the remote is needed to turn the screen on in that case. I've got an old remote on the way from the US to see if I have any luck with that. Course, if it doesn't work I'll blame the remote! I'll free report back in a couple of weeks. Thanks again.
  5. That's interesting. Is yours a factory fit dvd from what you can tell? Is it a screen on overhead rails? And is it a single dvd or 6 disc changer? Just hoping I'm not chasing an illusive remote for new reason! Thanks for that.
  6. Righto, thanks. That's a pain then! Anyone have any luck with a universal remote or anything other than the Chrysler one? Or has anyone bought a new one from a dealer and know a price for one? Thanks!
  7. Hello. A new GV owner here with a minor problem. I think I read that the flip down screen on an 06 GV can't be made to come on in any way without the dvd remote. Do you agree? Has anyone had any luck with a universal remote in that case? I don't want to fork out loads for a second hand remote if it's not likely to work anyway. It's an in dash 6 disc changer with an rb3 head unit, and sound plays fine from dvds. The screen is evidently an rs-200 model: anyone know who makes them? Thanks, and fingers crossed!
