  1. hi jon i ended up bleeding the brakes 4 times in total the 4th time i went to my mates unit where i totally drained the system with airline bleeder the refilled and bled with a proper bleed kit yet after driving few miles still felt like air in the system i was then given some advice (from a very old skool mechanic) lock the pedal down for an hour or so(bit of wood between the stearing wheel and brake pedal) test drove after, little change !!! then just drove it around as normal (fed up of lack of results tbh) and brakes seemed to settle back in all back to normal now so in answer to you question unfortunately i dont have any good advice to feed back on im sorry
  2. ps listen to gordy and andy they a geniuses very very knowledgeable and helped me more than enough times with there advice thumbs up fellas
  3. i had same problem with my 2.5crd and 2.8crd the 2.5 i replaced all filters (not housings)had tank removed and cleaned no luck sold car in the end my 2.8 had exact same issues changed all filters fuel filter housing(ie heater/manual fuel pump) still same issue sent to diesel specialist diagnosed fuel rail pressure release valve cost few hundred quid to diagnose and get sorted but 2 years in now and im still going strong my advice is send it to a specialist who knows what they are looking for my experiences with 2 voyagers the fuel systems seems to be very temperamental there are post on this forum about these problems already as well as a big write up on the web somewhere that i read ps when you get it sorted only use premium diesel cheep diesel seems to worsen your problems
  4. hi gordy thanks for the reply if i didnt let fluid drain through naturally (ie connected up to new caliper released hose clamp) there would have been 10x the amount of air in system the system was been bled with proper airline bleed kit there were a few(quite a lot of air bubbles)that pushed out until entire system was running through with new clean dot4 there was no air left in that system !! but your advice about bleeding while running seems logical i will give that a go and post again with update
  5. hi just just fitted new discs pads calipers and brackets (complete front bake system) to my 2.8 crd just wondered if anyone else has done the same ?? i seem to be having bit of trouble with bleeding them i let the fluid drain through naturally then shut nipple off (after fitted new caliper!!) then bled as per usall (pump pedal till hard, release nipple.etc....) until all air beleived to be gone !! test drove brakes felt good for a mile or so then felt like air still in system alas not. redone bleeding (twice) still felt like air in the system after test drive been to mate unit tonight and drained entire system refreshed with new dot4 bled with presureised bleed kit !!(system had a lot of air bubbles in) felt like full brake pedal as drove away within a mile brake again went crap again is there something im missing ? a secret trick only involving chryslers ? anyone got any advice please
  6. hi steve i notice you are in milton keynes as am i i had same ish problem i took my voyager to the diesel specialist on mount farm (dw i think they called) clark road excelent service diognosed corectly sorted it out 1st time worth the money you spend with them hope this helps
  7. thanks for advice mike i have had the internal sensors checked and all seem fine and dandy the alarm can be armed as usal but could be 2 mins or 2 hours later the siren will sound and will not turn off with key fob or manual door lock disconectiing battery i have tried every thing i can think of to no avail
  8. i have the exact same problem when alarm is armed goes off can lock and unlock with remote fob but does not turn siren off i have tried numorous resets diconecting battery does nothing apart from annoy it more lol had auto electrician look at it (dont think he was very good) said there was no fault found i just lock my car with the cental door lock button on the door now if some one has got a cure for this would love to know it myself ps had same problem on my last 2.5 voyger too i think its just another voyager quirk !!!(as im on my second voyager with exact same issues)
  9. hi had same problem with my doors watched this easy easy repair well worth a go your self copy paste watch
  10. hi had exact same issues with my 2.5 crd and my 2.8 crd 2.5 changed every filter had tank chemically cleaned fuel system completely checked (ie all pipes injectors etc....) never got to bottom of problem sold car for spares 2.8 had exact same problem changed all filters fuel heater/pump housen still had problem sent into diesel specialist after few hours diagnosing was fuel rail pressure release valve been running perfect since October 2015 absolutely no reports !!!! if i remember the labour was around £300 and the part was around £50 (worth every penny to me) my advice is save yourself the £1000s i have personally spent to discover my problem pay few £££ for a diesel specialist to diagnose it properly for you
  11. i have 2.8crd and ive towed loads of things including a fully loaded plant trailer mine only kicked down when climbing up hills ish but then i live in Milton Keynes and we are pretty flat ground but towing my 1.5t camping trailer to Devon few weeks ago had absolutely no issues with it changing up and down gears and thats got some monster hills down there must admit the fuel consumption goes through the roof when towing anything but thats life unfortunately
  12. 1 quick question is it possible to re gas the air con system if the compressor isnt working ?? ie can the old gas be vacuumed out leak tested and re filled !!!
  13. ahhhhh get ya cheers big nev will let you know results ps my multi meter is broken so cant check voltage at moment unless i do it with my tounge lol (not happening!!!) will pick new 1 up and check tommorow
  14. hi nigel the relay is fine as checked yesterday swapped out with the fog light relay both work fine the garage has stated that the is 800g in the system (but say it requires 790+-10) i have looked it up online it said my car requires 790g-960g would the 800g cause the pressure switch not to kick in ??(as it is at the bottom scale of the fill) is that physically possible to do the clutch while compressor still bolted to the engine ?? there is possibly 2" max between the pulley and the inner arch !!!
  15. wow jetfiremuck have you seen the gap between the inner arch and the pullys ???? i would be lucky to get a business card in there !!!lol ill check the voltage tomorrow i doubt im gonna start sticking anything near the pulley while is spinning ill leave that bit to someone a bit more insane than myself lol (any volunteers ??) thanks for the advice though
  16. definatly not the relay swapped out with the fog lamp relay both relays are fine ??????
  17. ill give it a go and let you know the results thanks bignev
  18. omg must be a chrysler thing again my passenger side is broken too
  19. hi nigel thanks for the promp reply just checked the clutch was not engaged without air con on and did not engage when air con turned on the belt was running freely just quick question you say my car requires 900g the garage in question stated in email that requires 790+/-10 they filled with 800g i do not trust anything they have said or done !!!! but unable to prove otherwise without more expense but where did you get the 900g info from ?
  20. @@nigelhobbs hi you seem pretty knowledgeable about the voyager air con system i have just had my voyager re gassed they garage has told me that the pump(i assume the compressor)is at fault they claim my system had 90g in and removed it 1st time they filled it would only take 450g (no reason given as to why wouldn't fill !) re done and took 790g but air is still not cold and informed compressor/pump fault could there be another reason the compressor is not working correctly ?? its on a 2.8 crd
  21. as i replied to last post i had similar issue and it was the fuel rail pressure release valve fault ps i also replaced all the filters including the heater/filter housen etc........ at Emmence expense over 2 voyagers btw stop asking for peoples opinions and taking guesses at the problem pay a specialist extra few quid to sort the problem once and for all honestly sounds like im being disrespectful but im not im trying to help you save the money that i previously spent with same problem oh ps i had the same issue with my previous 2.5 voyager too that i never got to bottom of the issue yet spent a small fortune and ended up selling for spares/repair i paid £3k for my 2006 2.8 and had the problem 3 weeks after i bought it hence i paid a specialist to sort it out for me (no one likes to loose £3k) honestly friend it will be money well spent
  22. hi dave i had similar problem but my car was cutting out while driving and wouldnt start etc...... i sent mine in for diagnostic to diesel specialist came back with fuel rail pressure release valve had that changed not a single issue since that was after changing every filter and housing and having the tank cleaned out !!!! i know its not best to hear but send it to a diesel specialist !!! well worth the money
