  1. Thanks for your reply BumBle02. I’ve had the gear lever cable checked now. It appears the part the connector connects up with in the gearbox has seized and won’t move freely as it should. Any suggestions how to fix this.? Thanks Justin
  2. Hi, My Chrysler grand voyager 54 plate 2.8crd has been off the road for over a year. Getting it ready to go for its MOT and get it back on th me road. The automatic gear lever was extremely stiff to move and was not possible to select all gears. Thinking it ways just a bit tight/seized up from car sitting for so long, thought maybe it might work itself loose. Instead i’ce Lost all gears, lever moves freely up and down but does not connect to any of the gears. Could this be a gear linkage cable needing replaced.? Or could this be something else.? The car was not being driven at the time and was parked up with handbrake applied while trying to work through the gears selections. Any help or advice would be much appreciated. Thanks Justin
  3. Hi again, just to update on where things stand now. Managed to get the car started and running again. Had a look at the fuses and had to replace 3 in total. The last one I replaced this morning was the PCM fuse, once fitted the immobiliser light went off, all lights came back on pre start as they should and car started, well after battery got a bit of a charge. Thank you to soupstone and Woodie106 for your help and advice. Very much appreciated. ?
  4. Hi, I checked the yellow cable on the starter motor and its attached and looks fine. I read a few posts online and noticed some people talking about removing the IOD fuse briefly and fitting it again, as this is supposed to reset the system. I did this a couple of days ago and now notice indicator lights don't flash when doors are opened by key fob control. The indicator lights also don't flash on the dash control panel when doors are opened or closed again by key fob. Can someone talk me through how to set this back up please.? While in about the fuses I checked some and noticed the fuse between battery & starter looks like it has blown, so going to replace it hopefully 2mrw and see if it helps to clear up the issue with immobiliser light staying on and I believe the cause of the engine not turning over. Appreciate any help or advice. Thanks
  5. Ok. Great thanks Woodie106 will try and have a look at that today. Cheers
  6. Hi soupstone, thanks for the link. I did check out the thread, and noticed the link to the manuals is no longer available, and it appears there is no closure... don't know if the guy got it sorted eventually and how. Hoping to find an auto electrician who doesn't cost the earth and who hopefully can give the car a once over. I will possibly try the battery disconnect option but need to check and see if I have radio code before I do. Thanks again.
  7. I have been looking online to see if I could find anything that might help me out. I came across a site called auto doctor, gave them a call and they mentioned something about disconnecting the car battery and re-coding the keys... can anyone tell me more about this please.? Thanks
  8. The alternator was checked when the battery got replaced just to make sure there was no fault there, and it came back as working fine.
  9. Hi, thanks for getting back in touch. I've owned the car for about 8 yrs and it's always done that on start up, so I assumed it to be perfectly normal. ?? I had the battery replaced about 2 yrs ago and it seems to be ok. It has the colour coded display on top which is showing as green(fully charged)
  10. Hi, hoping someone can help me out. I have a Chrysler grand voyager 2.8crd 54 plate. Went out to start the car today and nothing. Not even attempting to start. Car was starting and driving fine yesterday. When I put key in ignition it goes through what I call the pre flight checklist... Basically all lights are on on the dash, all dials turn in a clockwise motion, then go back to start positions. All lights go off and car won't even try to turn over. After checking manual I see that the immobiliser light is on and stays on. I believe this is why the car will not turn over. Can anyone tell me what could be causing this and what options I have please.? Thanks
