I only ask as my now found existing key fob doesn't seem to "arm" the car wen I lock it, but sometimes I hear a faint sound from the siron wen I unlock the car using buttons, weird I know .........

Nervous man took ages making this car sweet and worried swapping its ecu will somehow damage my loved car lol !!!!!!

That's great thanks nev I will have to try tomorrow as can't let kids down !!! Lucky for me car is unlocked and I'm not locked out ! So just to confirm plug in the doner ecu and change only the barrel, put battery leads back on and turn the key ? Sounds too easy lol thanks mate il let ya know how it goes !!!

Why did u swap ur ecu mike is it a voyager ? Iv never played with an ecu, can they range ur car if swapped about ???

P.s the doner car keys has two spare fobs too would them fobs work or could I keep using the original fob if it turns up ?? Thanks again

Thanks for reply chaps its real help . Basically I just wrote a massive reply and I deleted it ! Oh my god it took ages lol il keep it short This time !! I have no idea how the other car broke I simply bought it as it was cheap and got straight to work strippin it to better my working voyager. If its ecu is faulty would it damage my car and can I take it to be tested in any way to see if it's safe ?? Also would the remote key fob work my locks if all went well during this lock change ??? If I take the barrol and immobiliser pick up ring off the doner car and swap them for mine in my working voyager will this start the car or will I damage the ecu somehow ???? Finaly found egr valve and its a right job getting at it! Had to remove lots of stuff like wiper assembly, coolant bottle and three pipes one was a twat as jubilee clip was hard to reach cos of clutch oil bottle or something and well out of site the reach of fingers! But 2 and half hours later and a few grazes n swearwords I had the egr valve off ! It does seem ok I can push the plunger in and it springs back. It not full of soot either. But now I have to do it all again as I did a practice run on my spares voyager ! I hope the egr valve on my working voyager is stuffed then at least I can put this good one in and hope for a quick diy fix. If it not the egr valve causing the smoke and power loss wen towing you mentioned turbo actuator, I can just see the turbo from laying uner car but how the heckas do I get to it ! Also would any one have a picture of the thermostat in its place as I'm sure its right were the egr valve is but I cant make out were !! Thanks

Hi gordy thanks for reply mate. Not got a warning light on or limp mode ! Wasn't as bad to drive with caravan off I nipped out to shop yday in it and no smoke but isn't driving like It should I sink gas pedal and not a great deal of pick up speed but it does eventually gain speed. I'm struggling to find EGR valve is it a plastic bend coming off main air intake pipe with elecric plug on its side ? Also My air intake pipes are oily inside is this normal ? Hi all am hoping you can help me with voyager 2003 2.5crd problem ! I just towed my caravan home and noticed a decent Amount of smoke from exhaust pipe and wen I started to climb a hill i noticed little power and to gear down. Its never been a problem towing in the past so pretty gutted ! Could any one shed a bit af light on this and I'm not very clued with engines si any advice would ne great ! Thanks, gaz

One more question please is ther a second fuse box in the voyagers interier ? Sorry to ask but knowone I know knows much about these beasty tanks !
