  1. Thanks AndyB2000, You got me on the right track with the glow plug dash light. This morning at 5 (7 degrees temperature) I started the car, but after the light from the glow plugs gone off on the dash, I left it another 6-7 seconds before I turned her over and she started with no problems. I hardly saw any white smoke.
  2. Hi, Thanks for your info, But I think you have your theory little bit mixed up. White smoke is condensation, normal on a cold starting car (or water get's in to the chamber, like from head gasket), black suddy smoke is a sign of incomplete combustion. Blue smoke is burning oil. The glow plugs will heat the chambers prior starting. If glow plugs don't work properly you will have condensation in the chamber, hence the white smoke on start up.
  3. Hi, Thanks for your reply, Apparently the first stage is a relay (ECM in the fusebox) that turns on the second controler relay. Before I can elimate the glow plugs, I need to test the whole line and after that I can look else were. Next is to test if there is power going to the glow plugs.
  4. Hi all, Maybe someone can help me. I have a 2.8 2007 crd voyager. I got some starting problems when it is colder (hard starting, white smoke from exhaust and glow light on dash coming on and going off in about 2-3 seconds). First thing came to my mind was the glow plugs. I got them changed (1 bad one), but still having the same problem. I read that this model has 2 relays. I want to start backwards to find the problem, next inline would be the timer controler relay. The questions is, where are they? Maybe someone has a drawing or found a video on youtube. Thanks
  5. Thanks for your reply, the wires disappear in a harness. I've seen a small black box opposite the speakers encased in a metal box, maybe that is the one. there is 1 cable coiming out of there, but it is not going to the siren.
  6. Do you know where the backup battery is located? My siren is a twin horn, but can not see the backup battery anywhere near it. Thanks
  7. I have done some more research and it has been suggested to disconnect or replace the sirens backup battery, it can cause a lot of problems (on some occasions water gets inside or battery is dying). I bought another siren from the scrappy for £10 to have a look inside. There are 3 components inside, speaker, circuit board and battery, all just connected with push on connectors, nothing soldered. I am planning to just unplug the backup battery on my siren to see if my issue goes away, if that doesn't solve it, I will swap the circuit board. I will keep you posted.
  8. Thanks for your replay, All the buttons on the fobs are working, the only thing I can't do anymore is disarm the alarm (at first it was every other day, now it is very time when the car is parked for the night and in the morning the same happens), it unlocks the doors okay. I believe the fobs are working okay. Maybe there is something not working correctly with the switch in the drivers door. Anyway, I am taking it back to the dealer as it is still under warrenty. It's the hazzle, that bothers me.
  9. Now it's doing it all the time, ican set the alarm with the fob, but can not disarm.
  10. Thanks for your reply, The fob works okay, it opens the doors okay, but on some occasions it doesn't disarm, but I can start the engine. Maybe the communicator on the driver's side door popped off? Is that what you are trying to say?
  11. Hi, Thanks for reply, Yes, it does it on both fobs, changed battery on one of them with no result. The only way I can reset the alarm is to disconnect the battery, reconnect and put the key in to ignition on "run" mode.
  12. Hi everyone, I would need some help or advice about factory fitted alarm on a 2.8 CDI Voyager. I have an intermitted issue with the disarming of the alarm system. On some occaions the fob will not disarm the alarm system, but it let's me start the engine. I managed to reset it via disconnecting the battery. After a couple of days it does it again. I wonder if replacing the alarm control module would fix the problem. Does a new control module would need programming? Also where is the location of the module? Any advice or help is much appreciated Thank you
  13. The problem returned, next step was to change fuel filter, after change all symptoms disappeared. Now marked asm solved. Thanks again guys for all your thoughts and input.
  14. Thanks for all your replies and suggestions. Just to re-cap. no codes, drives normally, but under hard acceleration hesitation and engine shutdown. yesterday I cleaned the MAP pressure sensor, after cleaning it felt that the engine starts a little better. This morning I done a test drive (best to do while it is cold as it will ask for more fuel). I run from 1st to 4th to about 3500-4000 rpm, there were a couple slight hestitations, but that's all, engine did not cut out. So I feel quiet confident that this was part of the problem (clogged up pressure and temp sensor). I will now regulary check if the small hesitations will go away or not. If not I will buy a new sensor. Also will check fuel filter and housing etc.
  15. Hi, Correct, no codes, no lights, just hesitates and just down. Had a full service done in july, hope they changed the filter. Will check with garage. Will do a test drive tomorrow and see if problem is still there. Fuel pressure wil be next on the list. Thanks for your replies and effort.
  16. no, nothing lights up, only oli light comes on when the engine stops.
  17. I removed the sensor and cleaned it (pretty much clogged up), put it back. Started car (felt like it's starting a bit better), in neutral up to 4000rpm with no problem. This was neutral, tomorrow will do a test drive to see. Will keep you posted.
  18. Thank you very much for that. Next step I think would be to clean the sensor and look for a broken or damaged hose.
  19. Tried that key on/off, no codes, done a scanner check, also negative.
  20. Where is the boost temp sensor located, on top of the manufold?
  21. Thanks for your reply, Will have a look this morning and post back later.
  22. Thank you for your reply, Can you explain in more details please.
  23. Hi guys, Just recently I experienced a problemwith my voyager. All drives well until I want to do a sharp acceleration. When I push the accelerator past half waymark, I get a couple of hestations and engines cuts out. After I stopped, turn key off and it restarts as normal and no error code. I can repeat this over an over. I am on the right track assuming that APS (Accelerator position sensor) sensor is faulty past 50%. Thanks
