    Autotrader

Oh well, after 8 years finally gone. Check out Autotrader £3100 - I only wanted £2000 for it !!!!!!!! Regretting it going already.......
  2. Hi, sorry for the delay, I kept an eye out for offers for the first week of post but received no replies, so yes I am still looking to sell. My only concern is I cannot do without a vehicle due to to comittments. I am looking to change this vehicle within the next few months but i am still looking for a replacement. I can send you pictures of the Delta but is much easier for me to do this via e mail? as I do not use whats app. P.S. Just looked on Auto trader today and there is now only 1 advertised and that is the diesel.
  3. Sadly, I need to change to a more mainstream vehicle. Local Fiat dealer no help, Fed up of cross referencing FIAT/CHRYSLER/ALPHA part numbers. Anyone intrested? offers? Bad bits - 1 door locks playing up (same as recent post). 2 Drivers seat belt stalk - intermittant warning alarm - does not quite locate but locks to pass MOT. ( I think it has dog hair in it ). 3. Interior lots of dog hair and needs a valet. Good bits - timing belt/water pump etc replaced New clutch New rear discs New battery Various paper work, parts/oi, tyres, brakes etc etc MOT till Sept * have to look and confirm that. Purchased from then Jeep/ Mercedes dealership in wolverhampton with almost 6000 miles, used daily I can supply pics of any part of the vehicle if anyone intrested.
  4. Brake light switch failing causing stop start/ hill hold warning lights to come on also flickering brake lights a bit annoying for those behind. Thought Id try a Fiat dealer even though replacement switch is only around £15. They appear not to want to touch it, unable to re set diagnostics as Chrysler sometimes have different fault codes!!!!! Fiat now fully own Chrysler. Have Fiat not received all technical data from Chrysler or at least have access to it? I was told to go to Jeep...why please?

  6. Hows about engine being overfilled with oil?
  7. Thanks Andrew, the vehicle is booked in on Feb 7th for the last few jobbies to be completed. I shall ask for some time to be set aside to check out these possibilities. As for the oil I have used Petronas Syntium 300 AV 5W-40. This has been used since 28,000 miles service. I did a little research into various oils a while back and this seemed to be a direct equivalent. Please tell me if anyone know otherwise .
  8. Thankyou, yes it is the multiair. Firstly I have just pooped..... Secondly amazing variations on price and model £78 to almost £600 Just to say today ran fine all day but its not tomorrow yet... why does it fail (if it has failed) a day after having service items replaced. Worse case as you suggested:- replacement part No? from where? as the engine is a Fiat unit would a main dealer be the best bet? specialist in multi air engines somewhere in the uk? second hand parts if available? repair if available? or as I am in no hurry to change the vehicle, run with it? possible harm by running short/long term?.
  9. Oh well, here goes:- New clutch fitted, new timing belt/ water pump fitted, new plugs, oil filter etc fitted on Thursday 16th Jan. Returned on Monday 20th Jan running fine. Wednesday 22nd Jan, morning start, a little lumpy for 5-6 seconds then settled down, carried on, 1 mile later engine warning light and stop start fail lit up. Back to garage, running fine, reset diagnostics, checked Delta Forum - see Josboogz entry approx 16 monthes ago. Exactly the same fault shown. Running fine until Friday, 24th Jan, same thing happend but no lumpy running, switch engine off for 2 hours and everything reset itself ( I thought you would need diagnostics kit to do this? anyway.....). Saturday 25th my stop/start not having worked for about 3 plus years began to work of its own accord! worked 3 times in a 20 minute window, 2 hrs later engine warning light and stop start fail lights lit up again. TODAY SUNDAY 26TH JAN - 0840AM. Started as usual, NO warning lights lit, lumpy running for 2/3 seconds, settled down to idle around 11/1200rpm. short excursion to 2000rpm then back to idle. RUN FOR APPROX 2/3 MINS - ENGINE WARNING LIGHT AND STOP START LIGHTS LIT !!!!!!!!!!! Any ideas please?????? N.B. Vehicle is back in the garage in FEB for new pads and discs ( due to an argument with that wonderful tyres and brakes company called ..CRAP FIT) and I hope, while it is in this problem can be sorted. P.S. Running out of money!!!!! Thankyou
  10. hi bud, cheers for the quick reply. I received a call from my garage stating a price of around £248 just for the parts. I did a quick search as the vehicle was already booked in. caar parts came out at £188.75 inc vat but then I found the Luk site, also searched the shop4 parts site which identified the part as fitted to the punto Evo, there were asking £106.97 plus vat. All sorted now. While im here........Epic motor, just so different, approaching 58,000 miles. New clutch fitted today, timing belt/ water pump etc fitted today also. New oil and filters, new g/box oil, new plugs. Never had an issue with this vehicle apart from consumables, pads/discs etc. What concerns me is the rarity and possible further costs with this vehicle eg previous posts £450 for back box when a Brava box will do!!! If your not in the know somewhere along the line your gonna get ripped off because once the part has failed and your in the garage its a bit late to do the research.
  11. Hi, anyone know the equivalent Fiat part No or Model for a new clutch assembly? Fed up of identical parts being sold at stoopid prices just because of the brand !!!
  12. Thanks guys, good news is that My Delta passed the MOT with a few comments. Stop /Start :- my battery was replaced under warrenty after 1 year so current battery is approx 7 yrs old but its starts first time even on cold days and I cant be bothered to pay upward of £120 just so the stoopid stop start system works, its not and never has been a reliable system. My conern was warning light being present during the MOT. I still dont know if its a fail if it does light up during the test but it is intermittent anyway. I cant understand if it would be a fail as anything will stop it working and it can be manually turned off. My location is Newcastle, staffs sir, Brum is a little bit too far even though I travelled to Wolverhampton to buy the vehicle in the first place, went after the SR but it was sold the day before I got there, luckily they had an SE as a demo, snapped his hand off. info on discs to follow, had a big day......
  13. And another thing, why is the tolerance between a new disc and one deemed out of tolerance (ie too thin) so narrow? I had new front discs fitted in January, after approx 6000 miles there now on the worn limit? Already had the arguement with an ATS employee (must have been almost 14 years of age " there all like that these days sir !!) I used to get at least 25,000 miles per set of brake pads and 2 sets fitted before my discs got low, now it seems a set of disc per set of new pads is the norm!!!! Is this correct or are there some new discs out there that start with a bit more material on them? Thankyou me again
  14. Hi All Q. Stop start, is it possible to disable the warning light - stop start not working- Reason - unknown territory regarding MOT pass/failure. MOT states that all warning lights should be extinguished, fair eniugh with ABS/ ECU etc etc but stop start? it has a disable button anyway!!! tried fuse info in hand book but makes no mention and unknown if its a shared fuse anyway and yes i know of the million reasons why it stops working but i want rid. Thankyou me
  15. Plastic oil filler cap, push and twist, very stiff. Finally snapped and spins round in situe. Requires a new cap, however, concerned about removing the old one? force it off with screwdriver tip? what remains underneath? reluctant to tackle as I dont want the remains of the cap falling into the engine!!! ideas please? Thanks guys. Oil filler cap has always been tight, the only way to release the cap was to grip it with pliers and put body weight over then turn (yes I know which way to tigthen and release ). As it rarely uses any oil and all changes have been done by dealers it has only ever been topped up myself on 2 occasions. Currently in contact with a fiat dealer who is going to source a new cap, but had the (quick fit idea of....please dont laugh......).remove the dipstick, attach a small funnel into it and top up this way. Thanks all
