  1. Ive to do the steering tie rods, is it worth while getting the right tool to remove them or is access half decent for a standard spanner ? Id rather get the tool up front than mess about and have to get it anyway
  2. Ive bought quite a few bits from rock auto, 4 dats delvery and less than half the uk price !
  3. Ive to change the bushes on my leaf springs. Has anybody a good guide or some simple tips ?
  4. The dealer saying even with the chassis number he doesn't know which it is, is it the 192cm or 262cm long ?
  5. Which hand brake cable do I need for the front section from the hand brake itself on a grand voyager 4th generation with the stow n go seats ?
  6. Bit more than the heat shield ! The rear shock top bolt broke. Is this bolt through the chassis, or is it a stud ? Thanks,
  7. Hi, This is a longshot but I've a developing rattle from the area around the passenger side around the floor behind the middle row seat towards the door. I've checked all the obvious stuff and getting nowhere. It's hard to pinpoint when you're driving the car. I don't think it's the door but at this rate I'll be taking the door off and driving to rule it out. Has anybody has anything similar and resolved it ? Thanks, Mark.
  8. Thanks, bled them all to be sure, bit of a faff getting at the back bleed nipples but done round the car twice to be sure.
  9. I'm sure this is well covered here but I've had to change the pipe from the ABS module to the front drivers wheel, because of a hole Do I have to bleed all four wheels or just this one ? Thanks
  10. Fitted new rad, spent ages trying to bleed it with the small hose top right disconnected. Then realise the mechanic who fitted the engine had kinked the hose from the bottom of the expansion tank. NO WORDS ! Released the kink all is well, running just on around the quarter mark in the temp gauge. The cynic would say I probably didn't need a new rad but glad I fitted it anyway. That said had I not been careful the other day I'd have cooked the engine because of a careless mechanic !
  11. New rad here today, fitting tomorrow to be sure. What's the best coolant I should be using thanks
  12. Thanks, According to the breaker the engine was taken out of a running car which had no issues, apparently the radiators are notorious in these cars. I'm not chancing anything so I've ordered a new radiator, The top hose to the radiator was hit yet the radiator was only look warm. We'll know at the weekend the outcome. Failing that I'll either put the thermostat from my own original engine or no thermostat at all for a bit to see what's going on.
  13. Stupid question but after replacing the engine in mine a SECOND time I don't mind sounding stupid. Whats the best way to bleed the system ? First proper run after new engine and running just above normal. Replaced relays to be sure, car running now in drive for two hours, fans cutting in and out as usual. Occasionally getting bubble up the front pipe into the expansion tank. Should I drive with radiator cap loose for a few days ? Or something else. Thanks, Mark.
  14. thanks, yeah, Chrysler here quoting £70 so not really that much more than the motor factor for the ones they do do.
  15. Does anyone have a good online source for the very front cable on an 06 grand voyager ? Being told dealer only Thanks
  16. Thanks, I'm hoping my luck is changing on this saga ! Seems the engine the breaker replaced with has had a timing belt water pump etc changed very recently. Still has the markings Goodyear 46510639F on it and virtually no wear on it or the pulleys. Is this a good quality belt ? My background would be hydraulics so well used to seeing gates but not goodyear. Thanks
  17. Yeah that is what I meant, should ok, engine exact same only this one has AC compressor ( which someone welded solid on my own engine ) fitting new timing belt water pump etc since we're going to all this bother. I really would like to think we'll be ok after this. On that note , where do I fill the AC from ? I'm sure I saw two locations that look like fill valves ?
  18. turns out the new engine blew the head gasket after a dozen miles ! Being replaced by the breaker but still have to fit it all over again. One question, Are the injectors on the 2.8 CRD tied to the ECU of the car ? Or will the ones on the new engine work ok ? Thanks
  19. Finally sorted. Was the fuse wire from the battery to the transmission relay. Thanks for your help in getting me the manuals etc, much appreciated, Mark.
  20. I think we're getting close. The relays on the front crossbeam threw us because they seemed to connect to the relay in the fuse box. for some reason in my car the relay #1 is labelled fuel lift pump, but we'll assume it's wrong for the time being. Will post later if we get sorted, thanks
  21. Thanks for the manuals, would be lost without them. Now we seem to have a bad earth from the left most relay on the front chassis crossbeam. If we run a wire from it to the battery negative we extinguish the engine lift on the instrument panel, but the relay clicks rapidly. Have we missed something ? Is this the relay for the transmission ? The wires on this relay do seem lighter than the others which makes us wonder. Also the PCM relay in the fuse box doesn't seem to be connected to this relay ? Any help appreciated, Thanks
  22. I've fitted a new engine to my GV, now it won't change out of first gear, code says could be bad ground. No power getting to the gearbox. Does anyone have a schematic of the multi pin socket so we know which wire provides power ? Thanks,
  23. got sorted, the one direct of the battery was faulty, have ordered a new one. Thanks, Mark.
  24. Thanks, The 12v outlet on the right hand works off the key, but the one on the left off the battery doesnt work at all. Do these cause bother in general ?
