Stuart I had the same problem when I swapped out the original head unit for the Navplus! Yes you need a powered aerial amplifier.... I found loads on eBay, and bought one for about a tenner as the cheaper ones looked a bit rubbish. I wired it into the back of the fag lighter for power....

where did you get the boot net ? I was thinking of getting one to stop my bottles of champagne rolling about in the boot ...
