Alternator Putting Out 40V!

Greetings All,

`Newbie` Alan here asking for help.

I have a 2005 Voyager 2.5 CRD SE.

No charge from alternator to Battery `+`.  Alternator is being `commanded` to put out 40V.  No electrical circuit ( continuity), from alternator output terminal to battery `+`, which is good as battery won`t get `cooked`.  New battery fitted couple of days ago.

I suspect Powertrain Control Module is faulty from looking at Voyager workshop manual.

Car runs ok if battery charged up, but only until voltage drops on battery, which isn`t very far as all car systems being powered by battery power only. So battery runs down very quickly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
