Vincey...
By the way, we are looking to replace our other 7seater french car, and I was considering the 500L MPW, perhaps the 1.3 or 1.6 multijet.
Any thoughts to share, I see you had a go at the 500x

Dido got a reaction from Cassino in Suspension Arm/ Track Control Arm Replacement
Job done!
Managed to source a delphi brand suspension arm that fitted well, from auto doc, I gave them the vin and they came up with a list of oem parts, readily available and delivered in less than a week from Germany . Delphi brand is spoken highly of in Alpha Romeo forums.
Took an hour of labour, wheels tracking, and back on the tarmac.
Another Seamless job on a Delta.
Total cost inclusive of labour and parts about £120.

Dido got a reaction from Nello in Front Drivers Side Spring
A better solution is to fit German ebach Pro coils that are manufactured specially for the delta, the set of 4 would cost just under 200 quids.
I had this fitted without any problems, labour should be about another 100 quids max.
You need to order these yourself online and get them to your local garage to be fitted.
Being a sporty coils, they will lower the car by 30 mm, which gives a more stable ride but no problems with potholes.
All 4 need to be changed.
Much better than the 900 quids theft from the dealer.

And hang on to your Delta

Dido got a reaction from MikeyRules in 3 Years Today!
Third Mot for my Delta.
A well built car. Stylish and unique.
Maintenance is fairly manageable thanks to the support of the forum.
I am thinking of giving it a nice polish/detailing as an anniversary present but after the winter.

Dido got a reaction from MikeyRules in Rear Windscreen Wash Fluid Pump Not Working
Managed to trace the washing fluid tank backwards. With a bit of squirt the connection tubing was dislocated.
Reconnected, superglue and a metal collar and back to business.

Check back within the forum Dido - Can you hear the pump but there's no fluid on the screen? Look under the bonnet and IIRC the hose tends to drop off from the pump - happened to me not long after I bought mine. I'll check and confirm where etc.

Thanks a lot guys.
I think I would rather spend my well earned cash on a timing belt change, better than a glorified engine sauna.

Dido got a reaction from Andrewgrale in Surplus Spring Coils For Free
This forum has proved indispensable for a Delta owner.
I had the misfortune of a snapped passenger side spring coil, originals come in pairs with a hefty £300 price tag. I am going for an advice I got from the forum for a suspension lowering eipache kit been backed and shipped and hopefully by next week will be fitted OK.
I will have surplus driver side and the 2 back ones old and bit rusty of course (11 reg) but can solve a problem and get a Delta back on the road.
I can find some space in the garage or the attic to keep these in case a mate in the forum needs them, can ship for what it costs.
Do you think we should set a spares thread....

Dido reacted to Nello in Condensation Of Water Vapour Inside Cabin
Never had this on mine. Using the AC frequently helps clear mist/comdensation all year round (and is good for the climate system!) Must be quite severe if you need one of those bags.
Has the car had a new screen? Wonder if theres a leaking seal?

Dido reacted to Andrewgrale in Cambelt Change
Hi Lindzy and welcome along !
If there's 84k miles on the pump and you have no evidence that it has been changed in the cars lifetime, I would take the opportunity to do it now, as it would be at least 5 years old now ????
The reason that most garages recommend a pump change is because most are ran by the timing belt now and most timing belts are now in kit form and include new guide bearings, belt stretcher and some include the pump and gasket, when the new belt is fitted the new stretcher puts a different tension on the belt (because it is new) and this may be more than the old belt, which is a different push or pull on the old water pump (if it hasn't been replaced) what often happens is, that 3 or 4 months after you replace the timing belt and don't renew the pump, the pump begins to leak because of the different tension
Apologies for the rambling response, your eyes have probably glazed over
