  1. Hi Vincey

Excellent work going on there - keep up the good work

If you ever want rid of the Chrysler wheel centres, I'll gladly buy them - they're impossible to find anywhere

    Cheers

    Hi Alfaspud

Do you have the 18" wheels?

  2. Hi vincey - Is your roof shiney then or Matte? I have the brochure with colours available so will look it all up to confirm and try to add here. Glad the bumper off worked ok. I thought they all had that polystyrene block? Mine certainly did.

    Good work again anyway mate.

    Hi Nello,

The roof is shiny, was matt on my old Delta! Hoping to get the timing belt changed at the weekend.

  3. The paint code should be on a chrome sticker under the front edge of the bonnet. If you want the small Lancia badges for the rear quarters, here's the link for where I picked mine up.

    Hi TJB

I've actually got 2 of those badges but don't you need a chrome strip with a recess for them?

Chrome sticker is there but just for the black paint, I'll have another look!

    Cheers

  4. Nice colour too! Is that what they called Bronze Savannah? I'm not actually a sun-roof fan but like a nice Ltd!

    Hi Nello,

Can't find the colour sticker for the Bronze, only the sticker for the shiny black on the roof, I didn't think it was a sunroof, I thought it was just a panoramic roof!

I printed your instructions to remove the bumper and they worked very well, Thank you!!

on my previous 1.6D I managed to change the grille without removing the bumper at all but this car has many more bits attached to it,(ie: large lump of polystyrene behind the bumper.)

Car needs new discs and pads all round, the droopy undertray needs attention, but I love the car!

  5. That's a great looking car Andrew, I've just come back to a Delta after losing my first one in France in 2017. I notice yours has the 2.0 twin tailpipe exhaust, I wanted that for my 1.6 too! Enjoy the car it's a great drive! My Lancia grille has arrived from Italy, just need a dry day to fit it!

    Ciao

  6. Hello! Yes it was me!! The car has scrubbed up pretty well apart from the O/S/F wing which is a bit of an abortion, the wheels are ruined, I may try a repair but the diamond cut have all but disappeared on a couple of wheels. Changed the cabin filter at the weekend, it was FULL!! had to hoover the filter housing as there was so much dirt in it! the Diesel filter has not been changed for a few years, it's rusty! I'm not taking any chances so will fully service the car including timing belt, water pump as soon as possible.

Blown away by the interior, needs some TLC but it's a good base to start on.

I've chased a number of the 2.0 Deltas, I've missed quite a few!! Incredibly most dealers haven't got a clue about the cars and are really surprised by the number of call they get for them! I was lucky (?) to get this one, Lancia badges are on the way. I'll post photos when it's done!

  7. Yes Nello, it is a Limited, cream leather interior, heated seats but not electric which I find strange, changed the cabin filter today the one that came out was FULL!!! huge sunroof which also was unexpected, I thought it was just a panoramic roof!

My 500X returned 48mpg in town driving and Yes sport mode is entertaining, have you found the 'G' meter??

Sorry the interior photos are poor.post-652-0-46411300-1557605865_thumb.jpgpost-652-0-30024600-1557605882_thumb.jpgpost-652-0-53232300-1557605900_thumb.jpgpost-652-0-93017900-1557605911_thumb.jpg

  8. Vincey...

By the way, we are looking to replace our other 7seater french car, and I was considering the 500L MPW, perhaps the 1.3 or 1.6 multijet.

Any thoughts to share, I see you had a go at the 500x

Hi Dido, I thought the 500X was well built and a great design, the boot was small, not as small as the Abarth! Defo go for the 1.6, £20 a year road tax and a brilliant engine with 120bhp, I wouldn't trust the 1.3 to pull if you're going to carry 7 people! I've had a ride in the 500L and thought it was very roomy, a guy from Ferrari HQ in Slough gave me a lift to the station in it! in some ways it reminds me of the original Fiat 600 Multipla the 6 seater from the sixties!!

Hope you find a good one, there's really not much wrong with the modern Fiats, Honest John from the Telegraph said of the 500X, one of the best cars fiat has ever built. Sold mine this morning.......

  9. After losing my Delta in France with a pierced under-tray and sump in 2017, I toyed with an Abarth 500 for 5 months, (couldn't live with it) then a Fiat 500X, a lot nicer car but I still wanted another Delta.

I spotted a 2.0 Multijet in Wigan which I bought last week, so I'm back and glad to be here, Lancia front grille already ordered and rear badge already fitted. Very pleased with the car, lovely cream leather interior, navigation and huge sunroof!

  10. Hi Rosso,

I had the same problem on the 10th May! Coolant all over the undertray, steam, all on the hard shoulder of the M1. My techy came round, had a look under the bonnet, pulled the cover off and said: Get a new one! what is it? I didn't have a clue! then, Looking on Ebay.it I found a "Scambiatore di Calore", heat exchanger. They wanted 35eu for the part and 37 for the postage. I bought one at a Fiat dealer £73 but later found that it's available from Shop4Parts for £64!!! apparently its a common failure. My Delta still going strong 58000 mls, slight leak on the intercooler that needs addressing, needs front brake pads and 2 front tyres soon, must do it before my trip to Italy at the end of August.

    All the best

  11. Hi Nello,

I've had the same problem with my fuel cap and as Rossocorsa says I've always tapped the cover with the heel of my hand, never thought anything of it as its Fiat family!! Delta doing really well, 45,000+ mls at present, nothing to report other than a broken spring clip on the back rest for the parcel shelf luggage blind. That broke when I loaded a 6' freezer in the back of the Delta.

In response to another member regarding the outside temperature, I have different readings on the dash and climate control of half a degree too!

  12. Hi Guys

My driver side sun visor has lost it's spring, it no longer stays up and will tend to fall down. Is it broken or can it be fixed? I've tried to take it apart but the wires powering the vanity mirror prevent any further investigation,

    Any suggestions?post-652-0-87628100-1439070662_thumb.jpg

  13. Hi Silver, we have a 2011 Fiat Panda 1.2 and have found that it will run a lot better with Super unleaded and that the air-con compressor in operation will make it sluggish. I understand that there is 'Fix' available from your Fiat/Chrysler dealer. I'm sure the cars were completely strangled to meet the new euro 6 emissions! Enjoy

    Hi guys,

interesting topic about tyres and spare wheel, when I bought my Delta I asked the dealer to order me a spare wheel, they wouldn't do it as my car was not factory fitted with a spare. I looked in the hand book and a Skinny spare is available,

    125/90 R15-96M

this is exactly the same as fitted to the Fiat Stilo, found one on Ebay, Brand new tyre complete with tool kit £40.

To satisfy myself I jacked the car up with the scissor jack in the tool kit and fitted the skinny spare on front and rear and it works a treat.

I changed 2 tyres last October at 34,360 miles, Goodyears from Camskills £78.00

I secured a Lancia airbag from Italy this week, looking forward to fitting that, I have for sale a Single Phase Lancia airbag if anyone is interested, Single Phase has a single Purple trigger on the rear, the Dual phase has Green and Yellow triggers £50 + PP if anyone is interested
